A fansite to me is one that ADMITS to not being official, and is clearly made by fans for other fans. One that is attempting to pull a hoax and sound official when it's not, I think loses that right to be called a fansite, so I am removing those. --PandoraX 17:19, 1 September 2006 (PDT)

I understand your reasoning, but I disagree with the removal because of the consequences it has, unless Lostpedia creates a specific subcategory for those hoax sites. Being placed in the subcategory Fansites is not a right that they have, it's a decision from the Lostpedia contributors for clarifying their status as not being official sites. If those sites are removed from the subcategory Fansites, then they're left unsubcategorized in the large ambiguous Websites category, a situation which actually condones and helps their pretending to be official sites.
