Dr. Richard Edmonds is a metafictional character who appears in Bad Twin, a novel written by Flight 815 passenger Gary Troup. In the book, Dr. Edmonds works at the Nassau County Coroners Office as the coroner that autopsied Shannon Widmore's body.

He was pressured to rush through the autopsy by the powerful Widmore family, and had a feeling that her death may not have been a suicide, even though it had been supposedly been done by Shannon herself with pills, scotch & car exhaust (She had a considerable level of barbituates in her system and her blood alcohol level was 0.23 when she died).
