Personnel

An F-Mission is a task undertaken by any number of the people from the freighter, introduced in Season 4. Please note that during the Season, the freighter team became divided, with many having their own agenda, meaning some missions in which the freighter team are involved in are in the A-Missions and B-Missions when Miles, Charlotte, Faraday and Frank spent time with the original survivors and the people who joined them (Ben, Desmond, etc).

Below is a list of the freighter team members.

Picture Name Role Status Overview
Miles Straume Spiritualist Alive Miles Straume arrived on the Island looking for Ben Linus, whom he found thanks to Kate. He wanted $3.2 million dollars from Ben after which Miles would report Ben as dead. He also offered to "take care" of Charlotte who had seen Ben on the Island.
Charlotte Lewis Cultural Anthropologist Alive Charlotte Lewis has talked about having work to do but so far has done anything beyond attempting to gather information about the Flight 815 survivors from Locke's group, and tested Daniel's ability to identify three face-down playing cards. She escorted Daniel to the Tempest in an effort to render the toxic gases inert.
Daniel Faraday Physicist Unknown (adrift) Since his arrival, Daniel Faraday has noted that light on the Island didn't seem to "scatter quite right". He performed an experiment where a rocket was sent from the freighter to the Island. He helped assist Desmond Hume, experiencing time-transported consciousness, to find his "constant" and, thus, saved his life. He used a computer in the Tempest to prevent the release of toxic gases, rendering them inert. He was last spotted headed out towards the last known location of the Kahana with a zodiac boat full of Redshirts.
Frank Lapidus Pilot Off island Frank Lapidus is a helicopter pilot whose role so far has been to move people between the freighter and the Island. He has memorized the entire passenger manifest of Flight 815. He escaped the island with the Oceanic Six and was rescued along with them by Penelope Widmore.

Naomi Dorrit Team leader Deceased, fatally wounded by Locke Naomi Dorrit; helped recruit the science team on the freighter, made initial contact with the Oceanic survivors following the crash of her helicopter and was expected to provide security/logistics for freighter personnel operating on the Island.
Captain Gault Captain Deceased, shot by Keamy Keamy takes Frank to talk to see Gault after he returns from the island. Gault reveals himself to Sayid and Desmond following Regina's suicide and informs them that Charles Widmore owns the freighter. He also claims that Ben Linus is responsible for the fake wreckage and 324 bodies that were inside. It is mentioned that Gault has a bad temper.Killed by Keamy, who wanted to go on with the second protocol and for leadership on the Kahana.
Martin Keamy Leader of the Mercenary Team (Omar, Kocol, Lacour, Mayhew, Redfern) Deceased, stabbed by Ben Keamy is the leader of a six-man mercenary team that traveled to the Island aboard the freighter Kahana. He led the strike force in the invasion of the Barracks and personally executed Alex. His team returned to the Freighter and planned to go back under "secondary protocol". He staged a mutiny on the Kahana, and killed it's captain, Gault. He was eventually killed by Ben at the Orchid after all his troops had been killed elsewhere on the Islend.

Discoveries: The Orchid station
Relation to Lost storyline: Miles told the survivors that his people were coming specifically for Ben, which Ben later confirmed ("Confirmed Dead"). Miles approached Ben, attempting to extort 3.2 million dollars from him in exchange for his freedom ("Eggtown"). Captain Gault stated that Ben was the one responsible for the staged wreckage of Flight 815 ("Ji Yeon"). At the Barracks, Miles reaffirmed the mercenaries intent to everyone present ("Meet Kevin Johnson"). The attack for Ben's capture began with an explosive attack on the Barracks ("The Shape of Things to Come"). The attack failed and Keamy retreated to the Kahana to regroup and to execute the secondary protocol ("Cabin Fever"). Upon arriving at The Orchid station, Keamy and his men reconnoitered the area without knowing that Ben was approaching the station. As Ben neared the exterior of the Orchid and found the mercenaries waiting for him, he quickly explained the station to Locke and Hurley and told them to remain behind. Ben surrendered to Keamy, pre-empting the need to execute the Secondary Protocol ("There's No Place Like Home, Part 1"). Having captured Ben, Keamy and his troops moved him to the rendesvous with Lapidus and his helicopter. At this point, using Kate as a deception, Sayid and the Others, led by Richard, engaged the mercenaries. All Keamy's troops were killed and Keamy himself was thought to have been killed. Ben was freed.

Discoveries: None
Relation to Lost storyline: The mission involved taking control of the Orchid; otherwise, "torching the Island" was never fully explained. Keamy abandoned his first attempt when Ben surrendered himself at the upper/exterior portion of the Orchid. When Keamy regained consciousness and found that all his troops had been killed, he returned to the Orchid, this time traveling to its lower level. Keamy revealed the dead-man switch he was wearing, probably believing that action would keep Ben from attacking him. He misjudged Ben and died, causing the destructing off the Kahana. The methodology and goal of the Secondary Protocol were never revealed.
