He is Alvar Hanso.
He is Kelvin Joe Inman, who escaped in some way from the island and came to New York where he was taken sick. Because Kelvin looks like the man and he is not confirmed dead. Especially the ears of both look the same. (comparing the ears is used by many states to identify criminal persons.)
