Suggestions

  • Add a note regarding 1) image naming and 2) copyright template to Special:Upload.
    1. Copyright templates note should include a link to Lostpedia:Use of Images
    2. Image naming should have naming conventions such as: include episode number, and characters involved, e.g. Image:3x06-jack-juliet-surgery.jpg. This facilitates searching images.

Lost-Media usage policy?

The lost-media episode galleries are an excellent resource. They seem to allow for resusing their screencaps as long attribution is given and no one takes an entire gallery. Is there any problem using some of these here? And is it allowable to crop images as long as attribution is given on the image page, since that would remove the watermak in some cases? --Jackdavinci 07:29, 15 February 2007 (PST)

IMG tag

  • Either here, or in the upload page text, or both, we might suggest use of the {{Img|X|Y|Z}} tag. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 16:10, 18 February 2008 (PST)

Where is the uploader?

I will definitely tag it with the right tag, but where IS the uploader? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Maurajbo (talkcontribs) .

It's over there on the left side of the page in the toolbox links (in the default Monobook skin), labeled "Upload file". -- Graft   talk   contributions  14:07, 27 March 2008 (PDT)

CC Templates

About If I upload a photo or image that I myself have created, and allow Lostpedia to host? Don't you think we should get CC licenses for images that we make, instead of public domain? At least this way Lostpedia will not waive ownership. There are two examples for CC templates in my sandbox. --     c      blacxthornE      t     06:57, 17 April 2008 (PDT)

Update

This article could be more useful as a help page aside from just giving copyright info. It'd also be useful to include a "how to" section. How to add images to articles, align left and right, thumbnails and resizing, captioning etc. At the foot of the page there is a section on how to categorise images, but I think it might need updating and should probably be given more prominence on the page.--TechNic|talk|conts 18:18, 25 May 2008 (PDT)

Agree - although some of this info should also be on the upload page. I'd also like to see someone address the issues we've been having with re-uploads (replacing an already existing image with an update without changing the filename) never showing up. --Jackdavinci 01:08, 26 May 2008 (PDT)
