Paul Artisan is a metafictional character who appears in Bad Twin, the novel by Gary Troup. He is the protagonist of the story. He is a private detective who was hired by Clifford Widmore to find his brother Zander. He has a dog, a chocolate lab named Argos who shares with his friend Manny Weissman.

He lives in New York, and his family heritage is Basque. When travelling to Australia on a midnight flight to find Alexander, he meets a flight attendant named Cindy.

He's described as being "a fool for the truth", and is exhilarated by the prospect of the mysterious Widmore case, having for a number of years been reduced to petty domestic cases.
