The poor man's son is a little boy in South Korea. While Jin was a doorman at the Seoul Gateway Hotel, he and his father implored Jin to let them in so he could go to the bathroom. Jin let them in against the direction of Mr. Kim, and almost got fired for it (instead, choosing to resign over the classism).
