Speakers used for communication in The Hydra ^{[source needed]}

Speakers have been seen multiple times on the island. Of course, they only appear in fully electrically capable areas. These so far have only been part of The Dharma Initiative's construction.

Appearances

The Swan, speakers are placed around the Swan to inform of when the countdown timer nears the end, lockdowns and system failures.
The Pearl, there are speakers in the Pearl, but their function is unconfirmed.
The Flame, there are speakers outside the Flame, their purpose is unknown.
The Hydra, there are speakers in Jack's cell and inside and outside the cages.
- In Jack's cell, they are used for communication.
- Inside Sawyer's cage they are used to notify when a prize is given or warn when pushing the knife and fork button.
- Speakers along the pathway near the cages play a loud siren when the Others are bringing Jack to the Hydra operation room, preventing Jack from hearing Kate or Sawyer.
- On the promontory where Ben shows Sawyer the view of the island, though these were silent.
The Tempest; loudspeakers gave warning messages regarding access of manual operation and contamination as a result of accessing storage tanks. ("The Other Woman")
The Barracks, there are speakers along the pathways the Barracks, their primary purpose is unknown, but they were used by DHARMA to broadcast a warning horn during Hostile attacks.
At Colleen's funeral speakers play music at the beach.
In "I Do", the speakers at the quarry alert of a compound breach (Alex).
In "Not in Portland", speakers are used in Room 23 in an attempt to brainwash Karl.
In "The Man Behind the Curtain", speakers are present in Ben's flashback scene, notifying DHARMA Initiative members of an impending Hostile attack.
