Episode Summaries

All discussion about episode summaries for Via Domus "episodes" to be conducted here
Since this game has been out for a while, I think that all the episodes should be re-written as summaries, rather than game guides. The writing in these articles is very messy and hard to read. I say why can't we do both? The articles aren't exactly too long - perhaps the best format is to have Synopsis (with both flashback and on-island info like for real episodes) or alternative call it "Summary", and then have another heading until the title "Walkthrough". This way a summary is given and players of the game can still utilize Lostpedia for help on completing the game. This satisfies our other major game areas like TLE and Find 815 where both summaries and pointers were given to fans, a winning format which I think made us stand out. --Nickb123 (Talk) 12:23, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

I think that's a great idea. The episode "summary" will be under the actual page (Force Majeure, A New Day, etc) and the "walkthrough" can be under a subpage (Force Majeure/Walkthrough, etc). -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 13:07, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

I think for convenience they should be under the one page. It shouldn't make the article too big, as an episode summary surely wouldn't be anywhere near as long as an actual episode. If you look at what there is right now - think that minus all the direction hints and stuff and that's how long a summary would be. Adding "/walkthrough extensions for each I think would overcomplicate it, as we'd then need a new section in navs, or indeed its own nav, etc. Keep it in the same place. --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:11, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

I have created a page for "Force Majeure" here. It needs some fix-ups, but I think it's a start. I also think that the Via Domus episodes should have a lot of gameplay pics, just like real Lost episodes. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 17:02, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

Looks great, just needs a few extra pics to liven it up like you say, but that's the format I was thinking, and I think the article length is just right like that. I'd like to start doing this ASAP, but I haven't played Via Domus at all so I'm no use really (though I am hoping to get it for PC and then divide my game time between that and Crisis Core lol). --Nickb123 (Talk) 05:18, 4 July 2008 (PDT)

I have another suggestion. Maybe all of the "walkthroughs" could go on Lost: Via Domus/Game Guide. This page currently is not a 'game guide', so I think if we put all of the walkthroughs there we could create more thorough synopses for the individual episodes. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 10:37, 4 July 2008 (PDT)

That sounds good, but will it not get too long? Surely walkthroughs are longer than the synopses? However, its a good idea, and I agree "game guide" implies a guide/walkthrough. --Nickb123 (Talk) 11:02, 4 July 2008 (PDT)
