It had been my plan to give hearty thanks to the transcribers - it'll be up soon... Thanks for ringleading! --Jajasoon 05:24, 13 August 2006 (PDT)
Well, you sent a message and I had to see for myself. No problem, brotha. Anyhoo feel free to drop a message if only to say 'hi'. --GodEmperorOfHell 05:51, 13 August 2006 (PDT)
Well, I really like this article, it sums up in a concise manner whatever we are supposed to do in a very nice voice and it is right, we have received many requests to become sysops (some nicer than others) and the entry answers that question. We seldom have had vacants and when that has happened we do the nominations and review the candidate. I also saw that this article was your initiative, If I had been asked I would have preferred it to be written as it is, by someone who is not a sysop, thus keeping it real. great job!. Ah, and thank you for not revealing we have the keys to the jacuzzi ;) --GodEmperorOfHell 11:09, 13 August 2006 (PDT)
Thanks, Nick! You've been a lot of fun lately. :) I will link you the parody when I'm done with it, and you can add stuff to it too if you want. --PandoraX 13:49, 13 August 2006 (PDT)
Heh, OK, I added it at Selling Out (parody theory)... enjoy! Feel free to add your cute Fenry pic! Just please make it height 130px. Drop me a line if you want me to do it. --PandoraX 14:24, 13 August 2006 (PDT)
A Humungous Problem
There's a huge problem. There's this guy user:Hmm, who's ruining everything. Something needs to b done, can you fix it? -- Lost Soul talk contribs

Ca't I go to sleep without hell breakin' loose? I have taken care of Hmm and Ilovedachoc, but I fail to see the case against Frazerdavid, in your christmas list please put a sall summary of the offenses, I had to go through those users contributions to determine what to do and I am really late, I have not taken a shower and I gotta go to work in a while. --GodEmperorOfHell 04:04, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
Suggested reading.
Wikipedia:Hanlon's razor is a very interesting reading and it has helped me to distinguish between good and bad intentions. It's better to reason with the guy. --GodEmperorOfHell 05:32, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
Binging
A tub of pringles? Oh my. ;) You watch it there, we don't want to find you face down in it later. I'm fine, I don't have much going on right now at work and it's easy to revise. But is there an easy way to revise picture vandalism? --PandoraX 05:46, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
- So I think I got all the pictures reverted & deleted. Let me know if you find any more... --Jajasoon 06:26, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
Lostpedia on Wikipedia
There's some movement on the Wikipedia page - a good summary, new straw poll/feedback, and my attempt to draft a comprise in the entry. Spread the word! --Jajasoon 13:59, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
- Sure - I'll lend a hand on your statement... --Jajasoon 16:46, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
Banned usernames.
Yes, we agreed that any name like Lostpedia or Lostpedian are very misleading. Jabrwock is working to eliminate those. Bob rings bells, but we cannot ban anyone for that reason alone. currently we have a Cooper Bob and a CertainlyNotBob. We have yet to agree what to do with ThePhuckMeister. --GodEmperorOfHell 08:26, 15 August 2006 (PDT)
- I don't personally have a problem with The PhuckMeister as a username. Just as long as he doesn't Phuck with the site. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 08:47, 15 August 2006 (PDT)
thank you
Actually thank YOU. I wasn't meaning that you hadn't done your homework on that entry; I know what it's like putting up stub pages for the obscure guest actors and actresses, I've done a bunch. The best you can do is throw up a cast template, and and IMDB link, and leave it as a stub, and move to the next one, because once the article is actually there, it'll get better in time. Anyways therefore it looks like you have the same philosophy as I do-- putting in new starter articles to fill in the site for content we should have. I coincidentally just worked on Japan, and realized that the japanese websites list Yunjin Kim as Kim Yunjin... (but Daniel Dae Kim as Daniel Dae Kim, since he has an american first name). I realized that perhaps Sora would also be listed w/last name first. I wish I knew how to spell her name in the Korean alphabet, then we could probably find a much better link. It's strange IMDB didn't list more though, they usually are good about obscure foreign things as well.
Anyways, keep up the good work, we need to fill in all those speaking characters and the guest actors depicting them. C¯ _Santa_ ¯T15:38, 15 August 2006 (PDT)
- btw, let me know when you're done with S1, I'd be curious to see.
- Do you think we need a guest actor category? That way the main cast and recurring role cast are separated.
- Also I believe that some guest actors never appear-- in other words if they acted, but all of their lines are cut in editing, they are still credited (like the french man father in the ballet scene of Shannon's S2 flashback)-- I'm pretty sure this happened in S1 as well, but I'm not sure who. If we could figure it out, that would be worth a note in both the flashback character and guest actor's article.
- Hahaha, I think I'm done now. I realized that Category:Cast is also embedded within Template:Cast, so I had to create a new Template:Guest star, so I switched all templates and any explict cat tags. Therefore for new guest stars, use the Template:Infobox Guest star, which is identical other than the cat tags. Phew. Category:Cast is now a lot cleaner, but is still cluttered with background extras and stunts, but I'll leave those for another day. (Although the total number of such articles is much smaller than the list I just went through)-- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T14:46, 16 August 2006 (PDT)
RE: country
Actually, the canada template isnt centered, its just that my infobox is so small. what you have to do is get the code from the template, and theres a "<div style="float:left;border:solid #000000 1px;margin:1px">" in there somewhere. change "left" to "center" and see if that fixes it. --Phmall 13:07, 16 August 2006 (PDT)
- You seem to be doing a lot of guest stars' pages. A little while ago, I edited Lost Season 1 so under each episode subsection there would be "Guest starring are: name, name, and name". However, this made the article have a billion and one red-links, so I just unlinked them, leaving the shiny blue-links. You might want to go through and link the guest stars whose pages you created (I'd do it myself, but I don't know which ones). --Phmall 13:25, 16 August 2006 (PDT)
Policy for advance episode info
Nick - I've drafted a proposed policy statement to cover debates like with Further Instructions. Please weigh in at LostPedia talk:Theory policy. --Jajasoon 13:18, 16 August 2006 (PDT)

Reverting
Nick hon, wish I could stick around and help you more with that but I have to run right now. Quickly, all I do when I do a text revert is look back in the history tab, and go to the last clean version. I then click on the date next to it, and it gives me the old version. I then click the edit tab and in the summary, I say why I'm reverting. I then click Save Page without actually editing anything on it, and it resaves the old version. Hope this helped. If you have questions feel free to PM me later or ask one of the sysops, they probably know more. Take care~! --PandoraX 13:18, 18 August 2006 (PDT)
Centering UK template
Hello Nickb123. I see you've had some trouble centering the UK template in your userbox. IMHO, the best way to fix it would be to reduce the width of your whole Nickb123 userbox from 280 to anything smaller than approximately 253. Unless you want to keep the width of your userbox to 280, in which case you can alternatively stretch the width of the UK box from 238px to somewhere around 265px. Adjusting one or both these parameters should do it. Cheers 13:09, 19 August 2006 (PDT)
- Well, it's centered, but the box width doesn't fit with the frame, so adjusting the above parameters would make it prettier. You do it your way, of course. If you try to play around a bit with it and preview the change, you'll safely see what it does before you change it. Cheers 19 August 2006
- Yup, looks better now. Oh, one more thing: you had already "detemplated" the UK box on your userpage, so you'll need to re-add yourself manually to the Category:Brits by adding that category in your userpage. Also, that category now actually exists, so the link to it has turned from a red link to a blue link. Which means that you may prefer to change the background color of you UK box to something different than the blue color used for the links. Cheers 13:42, 19 August 2006 (PDT)
Guest stars
- Yeah I'll help, although I'll have much less time in the near future. I was really doing reorganizing, but I don't have a convenient list of guest stars for S1, and esp not for S2, handy, do you? I'm sure I could google one in a second, but I haven't needed to yet. Also User:PandoraX has been helping with guest stars for S1, so I'd hit her up for the project as well -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T13:45, 19 August 2006 (PDT)

The Truth
The truth is out there - maybe Rachel is really Fox Mulder's long lost sister? I imagine it will be more of a twist - something along the lines of what the mass consumption of Apollo bars might cause, per Dr. Hackett's plan? LostPedia's Glyph
- Nick - great job on the glyph! Sorry for the radio silence this morning, but you didn't need my help clearly... Any clue who the "lostpedian" who crossed the finish line first was? --Jajasoon 09:01, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
- I do not understand why you have removed the glyph reference from article 42... There is no other place where the glyph was found (LostPedia, as I know, is the official place where the glyph was found)... The fact that the glyph 42 was found after much work (in a time when everyday a glyph was being found with almost no difficulty at all), and that it was on LostPedia, is important (at the very least, as a curiosity for LostPedians)... Therefore, who put the Glyph (with release order 42) in LostPedia? Was it you?! If so, where was it before? The way for the glyph to be found, as explained in Hansoexposed.com article, is not something any Lostpedia user can do, since it uses the folder RachelBlake immediatelly after www.lostpedia.com, and not www.lostpedia.com/wiki/...something... Thus, who's "we" that "put the glyph in LostPedia"? Conclusion: the reference to the glyph in article 42 should continue there, instead of being deleted. Please, answer me, so I can understand. Thank you in advance. (The)Batmagoo(BatmanMagoo) 05:10, 5 September 2006 (PDT)
- Thanks for understanding my point of view, and restoring the reference. :) (The)Batmagoo(BatmanMagoo) 05:43, 5 September 2006 (PDT)

I just wanted to thank you and everybody else who helped for that awesome user page fanicer guide of yours. It really did help, and with a few extra guidelines from Wikipedia, I now know how to make my page the *cough* BEST PAGE!!!! Thanks!!!! --Gateboy42 09:16, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

userboxes
I'll add 5 more to 5000 or so, and we'll see if the reaction is positive or negative. The increments are now at 1000. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T03:05, 26 August 2006 (PDT)
- ...and I figure these are less potentially flamebait than the other recent userbox discussions we've had. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T03:06, 26 August 2006 (PDT)
- yeah just look at your edit history by 500, and see how many pages you have. I have no idea either. I'll add a 7500 and 10K, and leave it at that for now, unless there's someone with more than 10K. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T03:13, 26 August 2006 (PDT)
- haha good point. AND we don't want to discourage the use of the preview button among experienced editors =x -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T03:21, 26 August 2006 (PDT)
- go ahead and pick a diff't color for 200, or i'll do it later if you don't feel like it. The width was used to fit with the hardwork medal and the lostaways template, but i may change that depending on feeback. reworking the medals templates atm.-- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T04:37, 26 August 2006 (PDT)
Hey Nick! Thanks for the update on edit conflicts, & thanks for the other stuff/passing out the medal & all that too. :) Take care, --PandoraX 13:06, 26 August 2006 (PDT)
- Yea, thanks for the medal. Gonna give yourself one? You deserve it you did 5 more mins than everyone else :). Writing to say that I "borrowed" (by that I mean took and then edited) the box with all of the 500 edits things. You can see my page's current version for how to accomplish this, or see my previous revisions if you want to see table code to do it manually, it's like html. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T04:08, 28 August 2006 (PDT)

Hanso = Good
Finally there's someone else who thinks Hanso isn't the evil corporation they're being made out to be. Well, at least they weren't always evil. I'm thinking that Alvar Hanso is the good guy; Blake has never said anything bad about him (which of course means that she knows- [grand]daughter theory), nor has anyone else. I think Mittelwerk and his pals must have attempted to silence him (thus explaining his disappearance) becuase he didn't agree with whatever it is TWM is going on about in the Sri Lanka Video. As you can tell my theory is still full of holes- mainly because no matter how hard I try I can't link together black smoke, an engineered virus, the end of the world, and an island full of people with strange connections... I just hope the writers can :)
-- Chris 05:11, 28 August 2006 (PDT)
- I agree Alvar Hanso is good but Mittlwerk is bad, in my opinion, and is taking the foundation with him. - Dee4leeds 05:13, 28 August 2006 (PDT)
- If THF is bad, but Alvar Hanso is good, and TWM seems to dislike the DHARMA Initiative, that also means that DHARMA and the DeGroots are also good?
- -- Chris 05:20, 28 August 2006 (PDT)
- the THF wasnt always bad when Hanso was in charge and the DI was started on good pretences with the DeGroots its just since TWM took over its become bad, which nicely happened just far engough for TWM to have made a difference ready for the TLE. (If you catch my drift) - Dee4leeds 05:24, 28 August 2006 (PDT)
- Definitions of good and bad though are all relative. THF might be killing a few villagers who the sickness thing to help the vaccine to prevent the end of the world Valenzetti style. Is that good or bad? Open for debate --Nickb123 (Talk) 05:27, 28 August 2006 (PDT)
- Exactly... working for a greater good. Has anyone here read Watchmen? I hear TPTB are big fans of it, and it has a similar sort of theme. -- Chris 05:39, 28 August 2006 (PDT)
- the THF wasnt always bad when Hanso was in charge and the DI was started on good pretences with the DeGroots its just since TWM took over its become bad, which nicely happened just far engough for TWM to have made a difference ready for the TLE. Both look nice, left a short comment... :) Been working on a project of my own, check out List of World Locations (the map, I think, is the best part). Feel free to give me feedback there too, or if you see anything missing. --PandoraX 16:06, 3 September 2006 (PDT)
Re: Locations page, looks great... very spiffy, almost like a real tourism guide now. :) Thanks! PS: I got rid of Frappr, they were really making me fed up with all their ridiculous "busy" widgets and popup boxes, and other bugs (like them only showing 50 markers at a time). I found another site which hacks google maps directly, and it is much cleaner for a map, unfortunately I can't figure out how to make more than one marker to separate out Lost from TLE locations. You wouldn't have a website I could host this map on more permanently, would you? I have one myself but have had problems with the FTP recently. --PandoraX 06:48, 4 September 2006 (PDT)
UK Glyph Hunt stuff
Since you will be personally involved in this and I'm not, I wanted to make sure you knew that there is a page I just made up for this at UK Glyph Hunt... so that you didn't make a duplicate by accident. LOL, I don't think he cares either way about us. :) Yes, I saw that, don't stress, we'll figure it out in time.

Transcripts
As far as I know, yes. The last line is the last one I remember from Walkabout. Spooky is VERY meticulous (you know how long it takes to make an accurate transcript now), and I know she usually takes about a week to get one out. Hey Nick, I gotta go out for the night. If you want to move more over, be my guest, but please follow the same format (make it uniform) including the title format used. No problem if you don't, I will be back later this weekend and finish the job. --PandoraX 15:22, 8 September 2006 (PDT)
No problem! I was only saying if you had a special desire to do it, lol, I'd almost rather do it myself because I can make sure it's the same standard used in all. It's not going to take that long, I'll be done soon. --PandoraX 08:10, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
On the links, yup, I was thinking the same exact thing. It would be a great help (if you have time) to go through and link them (watch that you match the titles up though). I am going to go through and link the entries on the episode guides one by one, and that will take a while, if you could do some of the individual episode pages, we might get it done sooner. --PandoraX 10:11, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
Looks good to me. I was going to put individual links in the page Episode List, but I think it is higher yield to put them on the individual episode pages, which that links to. I'll follow that format if I do S2, but I have to move all the transcripts over first. --PandoraX 10:22, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
Yup, you are right on the Exodus divisions. Thanks for the great help! It's very monotonous do do this sometimes. --PandoraX 10:50, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
Thanks again for doing S2 links also. :) You made a very daunting task much easier for me, and now all the transcripts are in and linked... I hope people appreciate it! It's VERY useful to have the actual words at your finger tips for quotes and reference. Going to ask for page protection on them. --PandoraX 11:45, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
