SysOp!
Congrats Nick,
You've been promoted to SysOp. Your work around here has been extensive and very helpful. Congratulations and Thanks a lot!

Banning
- How did your first banning feel? Congratulations on being promoted, you need to add your signature to the Lostpedia:Administrators page.--CaptainInsano 12:57, 14 September 2006 (PDT)
Mysterious, Figure Waving
The consensus on the page rename was actually "Mysterious, Waving Figure" any chance we could change it to that? BTW, congrats on making Sysop!--scocub
- You changed it but not to what was decided. The page should be "Mysterious, Waving Figure", you changed it to "Mysterious, Figure Waving". I know you've been doing a ton of work on the site, I just wanted make sure the page was titled correctly. I know it's not the most important page out there, so fit it in when you can. Also, I was curious, can a page have more than one redirect? Thanks for your help.--scocub
- Thanks. I appreciate the help.--scocub

aotw archive
- Thanks for the update! One more thing I was going to do (as in article talk) was to remove the TOC. Would you agree? I think WP's AOTW archive is also sans TOC. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T04:21, 19 September 2006 (PDT)
Hate to say it
caps
- Saw you do some capitalization-based article moves. I wanted to make a request for decapitalization of non-proper-noun article names, such as Action Figures->Action figures. In other words, it's not the title (like Lost:The Board Game), and should not be capitalized, following similar articles such as Jigsaw puzzle. Would you consider making that move? In fact, now that LP is move-protected, we almost need a {{Move}} request template for editors to make requests similar to {{delete}} and {{merge}}. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T08:12, 20 September 2006 (PDT)

Thanks for your help with all these rewrites, it was gonna take me forever to do them all myself. I'll get at least Desmond and Sayid done this weekend, that'll get us about halfway done. --NSHS07 13:44, 23 September 2006 (PDT)

DJ Dan 2nd
Um... Hello, I have no idea if I'm doing this right (so new I'm still mint-in-package), but I wanted to thank you for your help in transcribing the final DJ Dan podcast. I quite obviously had no idea what to do and truly do appreciate your guidance! I'm working on editing a few things here and there and will keep it up as new sections are added. Thanks for finding a way to make me useful! -Ava
Hey, Nick, would you mind moving the transcript to another page of the same exact title but with the correct date (September 24)? I don't know how to do it and still keep an archive of all the editing notes. Please keep the other page as a redirect, since I linked that one to people. THanks! --PandoraX 04:32, 26 September 2006 (PDT)

My thoughts ..
Well, there are two adverts in the side, that is extreme overkill for a short page and then theres one underneath content, and annother underneath copyright/info bar for hosting.
Secondly is copyright, your using tons of copyrighted material, your images dont state wether they are claimed under fair use or GFDL/CC etc, and the GFDL/CC images that are used do not comply with the licenses (Your not crediting the author etc, (IE: Image:TVfuture icon.png which is from wikipedia, that image is licensed under the GFDL, you are not stating this or attributing the author thus making it a copyright violating. [1])
Thirdly is the big "is available in the dollowing languages.." - it's a space hog.
and i could rant on all day but fourth is the ammount of OR, You dont seem to cite sources/episodes which is imperitive in making a good encyclopeadia. MatthewFenton 07:45, 30 September 2006 (PDT)
- Just a note: Lost-Media dont actually own the copyright to the images they me available, you still have to make note that: a) You are claiming fair use and b) that the copyright owner is ABC. MatthewFenton 08:05, 30 September 2006 (PDT)

Hey Nick, is there any chance you can show me a pic of what the Swan's door looks like in Fire + Water? You once told me it looked more like the Arrow's, then what it does later on. --SilvaStorm

Licensing of your photos
Hey nick. Can you let me know what license you are releasing your images for the Lost Experience Manchester photos please. I'm trying to get a collection of relevant image licenses together -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 02:09, 3 October 2006 (PDT)
- So basically, put them in the public domain for anyone to do as they wish? Okies I have that license done already! Yes, the license should be an issue for our own pictures too, as we don't necessarily want anyone running off with them without our permission. They're covered under the Creative Commons Non Commerical No Derivitions 2.5 License as standard anyway, but as they are your property you have to let people know what permission you allow for the images :0) -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 04:32, 3 October 2006 (PDT)
IRC
Hey Nick, do you think we can get a blurb about the IRC (chat) channel on the front portal on premiere night? I guess admin doesn't have the Lostpedia chat up yet, so it would be nice if this is the place to be, and most people don't know about it yet. This would be a good excuse to jump start the channel. Moving to admin's new chan at a later date will be easy, and we'll have a ready population of users ready to move smoothly. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T05:04, 3 October 2006 (PDT)
In a couple of days
- Okay Nick I am saying this for the bettering of Lostpedia. You need to ban User:9lukeb his IP and everything. Because when he comes back in a couple of days things are going to get really ugly, really fast. He has already sent marik and I email where he cussing us out. If he comes back when a sysop isn't around it will be bad, and we can't have that during priemere week. Do this not for because he won't target just me, he is going to target Lostpedia in a whole. I am informing you to permently ban User:9lukeb and his IP. Just thought I should tell you what is going on.--CaptainInsano 17:41, 3 October 2006 (PDT)

Swan door in Everybody Hates Hugo!
Hahaha, I just watched Everybody Hates Hugo and the Swan Door in it was basically exactly the same as the Arrow's! Hurley went through it when he was taking Rose inside, and it was just two wooden doors. I wonder if they will change what the Arrow's door looked like if we see it again, so it will be more like the Swan and Staff doors? XD --SilvaStorm

new here
Nick, I saw your posting on Captain INsano's talk. I am new to your site. I was writing a page this morning and before I was even done Captain Insano had nominated it for deletion! It was not spam and was exactly like some 20-50 others I saw in the directory. Pretty shocking. Anyway, since I am new here and am not looking for a fight I have deleted it and won't bother further.
My advice is, try to treat people fairly and be open to new users on your site.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fenry (talk • contribs) .
- You weren't abused you were wrong. The reason we have the fan web sites page is so we don't have a page created for each web site.--CaptainInsano 12:10, 7 October 2006 (PDT)
Wrong again. I actually found numerous such pages and simply was creating exactly what everyone else did. For someone who tells everyone what an expert he is, you are way off base here Mr. Insano. Anyway, I really don't care and have deleted the page since I did not come to Lostpedia to find a fight. This is a fun hobby for me, and evidently not for you. Next time you tell everyone what an expert you are though, check your facts. :)

Nice?
- I personally think I have been a lot nicer recently. I could have cursed many people out, but I didn't. People (new users) just get pissed off when you delete something they put on when it doesn't even belong there. They don't understand when you post here, that there is a chance it might be deleted. I believe that when someone creates a new profile they shouldn't be aloud to edit for a couple days. Which would give them time to learn the reigns. It will also lessen the amount of vandalism. Can we do that? Just a thought. I just think people get to worked up when someone else deletes something of their's. Hey if they come lookin for fight, you better talk to them for me. Tell them that you are holding me back.--CaptainInsano 15:09, 8 October 2006 (PDT)

Iron Chef account (me) has been here much longer than a week. And I have never critisized this Wiki. Infact, I recently tryed to "re-create" the Lostpedia page on Wikipedia. It, however, was nominated for a speedy delete by, guess who, Mathew Fenton. I have contacted Mathew, (A regualar memeber on Wikipedia) and he has stated that he received a Permiband. I have apologized to Plkrn and Jaberwockey for Racism, Flamming and Insulting other users, and I have been, thankfully, given a second chance here. Fun from Glass Ballerina
Sick of putting out flamewars and fixing noob edits? Here're some fun details from s3e2 I was chatting with Pandora about...
- The character credited as "Joah Buley playing Luke". Well I picked out someone who looks like Luke, based on an image I found of the guy at his talent agent. What do you think, is that him? My theory was that he was probably an Other with a cut line (rather than a flashback character in Korea).
- Is this the same girl? Image:Others-book-work.jpg. Image is in the Rock Quarry article gallery for now.

Hard Work medal for Dt7?
I don't know what he did to deserve a medal any more than many of us have done here in the past. I'd love an explanation, otherwise I'm concerned that you're diluting the value of the medal by bestowing it to people who have done significant-but-not-medal-worthy work. In the past, this medal was given to people who painstakingly hand-removed vandalized content, taking many, many hours of work, etc. Significant site organization has been done by many people, none of whom have yet to receive this medal for these specific efforts. —XSG 11:41, 14 October 2006 (PDT)

TLE clues
I was about to try a fix, but figured I should get your opinion first. Basically the child pages of the LE Clues pages for each date do not have a wikilink back to the parent LE Clues article with the calendar. In other words, the the top of The Lost Experience clues/June 12 lacks any easy navigation back to The Lost Experience clues. There is a manually-entered disambig to the clues page, so I could just add another line. Or we can do it via a template, either making one for all clues pages, or adding it to Template:Lost Experience, which may or may not be ideal for navigating to the parent article. You thoughts? -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T21:50, 22 October 2006 (PDT)

What is your opinion on what to do with the article space for Radioharvest.com? This would fit the format for (most) of our website articles; but it's also covered by DJ Dan live broadcasts, so maybe it can be a redirect (if we add more explicit info such as radioharvest.com redirects here?) Borders
Hey Nick; I personally am trying to go for simplicity, since there are so many characters and I don't want it to look too "busy", and I don't think not having divisions bothers me. But you could try it out with a border and see if it looks better, I don't feel that strongly about it. Just make note that I'm having a lot of issues with spacing (right now I space the ones next to pictures by hand), so the template must be the exact same dimensions. --PandoraX 08:56, 30 October 2006 (PST)

I must have thought it did, after reviewing its nomination progress so many times last week, that gave me the feeling of "Didn't we already do this before?". Anyway, to make up for my mistake I will edit my posting in the AOTW talk page, to prevent confusion. I am just leaving my suggestion for encouraging more rewrites and nominations, to have a large stock to choose from. Hope this suggestion might be useful, as it was a personal motivation for me to improve my edits :)-- 09:59, 30 October 2006 (PST)

Why people hyperlink everything
Links are what make wikis great. I linked to the place where I live and the year I was born so that, if pages were later created about those subjects, I could show my connections (as I've done with University of Michigan, for example). You seem to have no problem with me linking to these other pages from my profile so I don't see why Ohio and 1980 were a problem. If, later, it turns out that Benry Gale is from Ohio or Boone was born in 1980, then I'll have another Lost connection to show off in my profile. I'm just planning ahead. --‹ srah › 09:15, 1 November 2006 (PST)
- Okay, that makes sense when you explain it. I was just offended that my profile was being edited by someone else and that the note on the edit was basically "God, why do people always do dumb stuff?" --‹ srah › 12:22, 1 November 2006 (PST)

Copyright & Fair Use info images
Hi Nick, I noticed you have replaced the Copyright, Fair Use sections in an image today with the screenshot template. Actually, I usually add the screenshot template to all the screenshot images I add, but it seems I forgot with this one. I appreciate your motives, to keep it easier, but for the ABC Copyright part and specially with the Fair Use, I think my additions only conform with what is added in the template:
To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
Hence, I hpe you will not remove such info from from my previous images or future ones.
Thanks-- 19:09, 1 November 2006 (PST)
- I know you meant it on friendly basis, and so was my comment. If it is for not to write a lot words in the Image description, we can agree on a shorter discriptive line to add. But since you insist that all the info required is in the template, please refer to the "To the Uploader" line above, requesting a "detailed" rationale on the fair use of the image and its copyright information. My understadning is that, the template is to identify the category of the file, but still the template requires the uploader to adda "detailed" description of the file use. If I added a "novel"-long description as you mentioned, maybe it was because I took the request literally :) -- 04:43, 2 November 2006 (PST)
