Pics
Since the templates have been made available I have been tagging screenshots related to Lost, I just haven't tagged the most recent uploads that were non-Lost items which I have been using in the Recommended News page. It wasn't intentional, I just forgot. No problem going forward, I'll make sure I tag any uploaded image. Thanks for the heads up. --scocub
Nick, I talked to jabr, and already explained my reasoning, but I am not tagging the thumbs intentionally. In my mind, there's no real reason to even tag the main ones because there's already a fair use disclaimer (check lost-media.com, which uses far more caps, and does not have these disclaimers even); in addition, as I've already mentioned, I've talked with the legal counsel of Disney for lost.cubit.net as staff there, and they clarified issues. In my mind, this is the paranoia of a hypersensitive few who are going overboard. I do it for other new pics because it's not that hard, and as a courtesy to others who believe in it, but I am quite certain it's unnecessary, and I'm not adding it to the 200 or so thumbs on the flashbacks page, 1) they are already 30x30 duplicates of the exact page they are linking and 2) all the points above. You are welcome to add them if you want, but to me, it's senseless. -PandoraX
Sorry, I uploaded it in a hurry and I guess I forgot. That image (Image:Drraymullen_desk.JPG) is from an unknown site (www.lostlinks.net), and we're not even sure that it has anything to do with ABC (even though its creator claims otherwise). However, good thinking on safeguarding it just in case it is real. Anyway, thanks for the notice (and that is NOT sarcasm :D). Namaste, --Gateboy42 04:19, 5 November 2006 (PST)
Not in Portland
I thought articles weren't supposed to be created for episodes based on rumored titles - generally in the past when they've been created, they've been deleted until the title officially comes from ABC. I was going to tag this one for deletion, but saw it is locked. Is there some reason this one isn't getting deleted? Thanks. --Minderbinder 07:36, 5 November 2006 (PST)
- Thanks for the response. I'm going to bring this up in the talk page for Lostpedia:Spoiler Policy (proposed) as it seems like the admins have varying opinions on this and seem to handle it differently. --Minderbinder 07:42, 5 November 2006 (PST)

Hey Nick, do you know what is causing my userpage to be so messed up? The fonts are really small, and the links, etc. down the left side are at the very bottom. --SilvaStorm

Thanks :) Yeah, Chris already told me, I was hoping there was a way to automatically parse that field out, but I guess not. I'm reorganizing the Numbers references so that they all reference episode... fun fun fun... LOL. --PandoraX 09:01, 6 November 2006 (PST)
- It is seriously painful, mostly because no one references episodes, and then I have to go back and look up when Locke tapped 4 times in the transcript. I decided to do a rule that complex arhithmetic is not allowed for referencing numbers (except for 108 and the product of the numbers, of course, which are beyond coincidence), and that long numbers like 291309934 do not count as a reference to "4" (unless they appear with other 'special' numbers, such as 415). If anyone complains about that, send em my way. :) --PandoraX 09:09, 6 November 2006 (PST)

Not a clue. Working fine for me in Firefox and IE. I suppose you could try CTRL+F5 on the pages, see if that works? -Chris[dt7] 09:04, 6 November 2006 (PST)

Just FYI...
- Hi Nick, hope you're well. I just wanted to make sure that you were aware of the discussion we are having in here: Lostpedia talk:Theory policy. Sounded like you might have some strong opinions on this subject, and I didn't want you to overlook this conversation, because if something gets implemented, it would change a lot of things around Lostpedia. So far, Admin and others have been pretty supportive, but just wanted to make sure all the active sysops were in the loop on the conversation, even if they disagree, and to put their 2 cents in. --PandoraX 04:49, 7 November 2006 (PST)
- Unfortunately, you caught me at a bad time. :( I'm headed out to work in about 5 min, and was just going to fix a page and then leave. Maybe we could talk this afternoon? You could leave me a msg or something by email, or tell me a time you are free to go on chat... Sorry! --PandoraX 04:58, 7 November 2006 (PST)
- Cool, thanks, good to know on the 3 strikes thing... that also makes sense. On the name rule, please add it to the Help page... I'll add it later if I don't see you've done it yet. --PandoraX 11:14, 8 November 2006 (PST)
- Thanks, Nick. Made a slight copy edit to explain that we understand oftentimes the creation of a username with "Lostpedia" in it is inadvertant, and we encourage users of good faith to recreate a new account. I think as it was recently, it was a bit harsh, as almost no one was aware of this rule, and it wasn't written anywhere. --PandoraX 16:39, 8 November 2006 (PST)
Hieroglyphs in the Lost Experience
Hi Nick, I was working on Hieroglyphs for a while now, but I'm facing a little problem that I hope you can help me with. I found a link in the article to Rachel Blake Iceland 02, where a long discussion is posted between you and Aero Zeppelin about the credibility of its source. Also, I have located The_Lost_Experience_clues/June_29, which has almost identical content, only adding much more to it. So before I take the wrong turn, specially the I do not know a lot about the Lost Experience yet, while you are an avid Rachel Blake expert, can you brief me on whether The_Lost_Experience_clues/June_29 is a credible resource that I can start to work from in the relation between Hieroglyphs and TLE? Thanks a lot-- 06:34, 10 November 2006 (PST)
- Yep. I'll focusing on The_Lost_Experience_clues/June_29 then in my work. Thanks Nick-- 07:08, 10 November 2006 (PST)
Sayid's rework
Hi Nick, as per my reply on the AOTW on Sayid, please don't forget to brief me on the parts you feel need condensing. I want to check how applicable is your comment, and see what amends are to be made if any, to do them asap. I understand your concern, but I don't want to keep on reworking this article forever, and never know how to make it good enough for a nomination. It would be rather frustrating to waste the effort made so far, and this is why I'm determined to get it to a standard qualifying level. Thanks--
- -Your suggestion of linking to sayid's related faith section in the religion page is valid, I should have already done that, given their duplication. Thanks for pointing that out, I will work on it.
- -Regarding the elaboration, I'll see what I can do to condense the material, and will again need your help to review if you don't mind.
- -One last question, what about the skills section ? Should it stay or go ? I think it is important to note how the employment of sayid's skills in the plot, but I would also like to know your openion. Thanks-- 15:54, 10 November 2006 (PST)
- Great. I've got to log off now too. I'll be starting my editing tomorrow and will msg you when I'm done. Of course I encourage you to provide any editing you feel is needed too, in addition to reviewing my work. Thanks for all the help-- 16:03, 10 November 2006 (PST)

Island Maps
THanks, Nick. Yeah, that guy is pretty problematic, as he takes a lot of the edits VERY personally. I explained how the pictures as thumbs are different, and why I made the edits to his larger pics (and their use doesn't violate policy, as I've talked to the creator of the page, and he has no problem with their use as thumbs, with a link to the fan page). I would watch that user, though (Redace). --PandoraX 15:19, 10 November 2006 (PST)
Rewriting Sayid
Excellent work!! I've read your edited version, and It was really great! Not only you've condensed the article, but provided new valuable details that were missed as well :) Regarding the faith section, given your last edit few mins ago, I think you noticed its update. If you have any further suggestions, please let me know. This was a great collaboration Nick, which I look fwd to keep :) I think i'll be pulling away my nomination, now that the chance seems to be missed, to repeat it again in maybe 2 weeks, after the featuring of the Logos. What do you think ?-- 06:45, 11 November 2006 (PST)
- Great..and thanks again for your work. Regarding the nomination, ok, but if we leave it shouldn't we indicate somehow that it has undergone changes and now signifcantly improved, not to discourage people to vote ? I think there was a similar case earlier with Stephen King, were Santa reverted his vote and all, do you think this is doable for your vote there ? If not, I'm totally fine with renominating later-- 07:20, 11 November 2006 (PST)
- Didn't notice the changes you made there until I wrote you what's above :) My mistake to doubt your professionality, heh:)) Thanks again. Regards-- 07:24, 11 November 2006 (PST)
Templates
Heh, I figure you'd figure it out eventually when we bumped. On "double categories", what Dagg and I have usually been doing is leaving just one template at the bottom, usually the one that is more specific. For example, Heroin and Swan Orientation film. Thanks again for your help. --PandoraX 10:48, 11 November 2006 (PST)
On pics
No, Nick, that wasn't the problem. It is genuinely a problem right now uploading pics, it gave me an error msg I've never seen before. You can look at before my edit, I had the right case, and the exact same picture link, and it wouldn't work. I tried uploading over it a third time, and it gave me a new error msg I've never seen before... ".jpg is not a valid file extension". Then I tried ".JPG" and it worked. I think it's a glitch in lostpedia right now. --PandoraX 11:29, 11 November 2006 (PST) PS: Check Fights... man, this guy makes pages with a lot of typos.
- Well, we have rivalries, pretty recently made, and a much better quality article. Fights is slightly different, but is it really relevant? I'm tempted to just nominate it for deletion and redirect to rivalries. Because there's a fight that goes on in almost every episode, but if this guy doesn't update it constantly, we'll be left with a stub page that's not complete and doesn't reference episodes. Rivalries, on the other hand, connects a larger theme arc that goes across episodes. (SOrry to write you so much today, LOL) --PandoraX 11:38, 11 November 2006 (PST)
- Psh! As if! :P You leave me msgs all the time... "What does that boy want now??" Hah... anyway, on fights, I think I'll make a note that says "Physical fights only included on this page." What he's including is overlapping with rivalries, and pointless. I feel like I have to spend 2 hours cleaning up and updating a pg I dont even care about now :P --PandoraX 11:49, 11 November 2006 (PST)

- Oh, well, parts of the map that aren't cut off by the edge of the door arch are shown in , but I think you mean the parts that are cut off? I think you can see more of it translated over in jigsaw puzzles; on the backs of the puzzle are a reproduction of the full blast door map in glow in the dark writing. NEw user - please help
Hi Nick, I'm a long time lover of this site and I've recently registered with the view to contributing to the site. Well I've been helping out with editing a little bit but I'd like to also know how to put in links, start new pages, upload pics and generally help a hell of a lot more. If you could give me some pointers, and seeing as you're an administrator I though you'd be good to ask or maybe point me out with a little project. I was thinking of beefing up the UK Lost Podcast page as I'm kinda passionate about that. But please contact me and let me know, I don't know how this works so please tell me on here or email me jdc-4-8-15-16-23-42-EXECUTE@hotmail.com.

Sorry unfortunately I'm not as important as who you think I am. I was on the UK Lost Podcast twice, but only as an avid fan. The editor of Lost Magazine was there, that was Paul Terry, as well as some insiders froom the Lost Experience but I'm no official myself. I hope we do get a new podcast here in the UK, because I'd love to go back on it. Thanks for you help and I look forward to beefing up this site in the future.

On Cost of Living
Hmm, interesting. I haven't seen this going around the internet yet, but I have a feeling it will end up on persistent rumors. Perhaps someone tried to analyze the sound and found that vaguely sounded like that (or trying to lip read), and people are repeating it. I agree with you, though, the canon from the show is that what he said was "You're next", and there is no reason to second guess what Locke said. I noticed that guy who put it in last is new, maybe we should just leave a note on his talk page about that. As far as I know, it's an unconfirmed rumor. --PandoraX 07:01, 16 November 2006 (PST)

What do you think about starting a Lostpedia Folding@Home group? It seems like something that is a little connected to LOST. Searching for cures to diseases and stuff. Take a look at User:Plkrtn/Playarea for the info -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 11:23, 18 November 2006 (PST)
- Nick, can you play with the community portal, and add Folding@Home to it please? Thanks -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 06:04, 20 November 2006 (PST)
- Why shouldn't we at least try and get people involved though? The site notice and the community portal are designed for this kind of thing, and it isn't hurting in the closed season is it? Folding@Home basically researches why protein strings unravel and you end up with people getting diseases like Parkinson's, Mad Cow Disease etc. Folding@Home just distributes the computer power across the world, so all the volunteer machines act like one super computer, each calculating there own little bit. If they get 10,000 PS3's involved for example, they all of a sudden have access to one of the worlds most powerful super computers, so why shouldn't our users lend a hand, if they wish? :-) -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 06:12, 20 November 2006 (PST)

Userpage copycats
Hi Nick, you can see from my talk that Nomad is complaining of someone stealing his userpage code directly. This seems to be an increasing problem, as I recall you, Dagg, Cap and others have had the same issue with other users in the past, so I decided to put a guideline about this in Help:User_pages; feel free to modify it. I told him to just leave a civil note asking for the user to change it or credit him, and that if he doesn't comply, I would see if I could step in. I'm not really sure, however, that this sort of thing would be a serious enough thing that it would be an enforceable rule on lostpedia, though. What do you think? --PandoraX 13:07, 20 November 2006 (PST)
Nomad's userpage
You don't know how sorry and embarrassed I am from this whole situation. I thought the way Nomad designed his page is a common way in Lostpedia to design User pages. Now that I found out it was his own idea, and I'm being accused of stealing his design, I feel really bad. I don't want anyone to have the impression that that's what I usually do - "steal" others' work and don't give them credit on it. I apologised in Nomad's page, but I also wanted you to know. Obi-Dan Kenobi 13:52, 20 November 2006 (PST)
- If I may add, it was neither an issue, as Nick mentioned, nor an accusation. Asking a Sysop 1st, before communicating directly, was basically the right thing to do, since there was no rule around to confirm if the action was wrong. I am glad things are sorted now, and we can all play some more with the important work here :) -- 14:20, 20 November 2006 (PST)

Hi Nick, quick question, regarding Sayid's nomination and votes..should I prepare a possible sample text to add in the nominations page in case it is featured, or wait ? Not sure how it goes...of course I'd be glad to have you contribute in the sample if you like, since you have invested in the article. Regards-- 16:42, 20 November 2006 (PST)
- Hi, since you weren't there yesterday at the time I asked, I want to confirm this again, I will start working on sample text now and post it in the nom. page, cool ?-- 12:49, 21 November 2006 (PST)
- well come on, you gotta admit you're kinda the manager at both nomination pages :) Anyways, I'll wrap it up soon and get back to you to check it-- 13:03, 21 November 2006 (PST)
- Hii, if you're awake, can you check what I added and tell me what you think. It is a bit flawless (as usual) but I tried to keep it at least not longer than Jack's :)-- 15:23, 21 November 2006 (PST)
- Well, the current version is also good, and is intact, except for the "competent leader" part in the first sentance, which I think should be mentioned in his intro to give a hint of his leadership. If this part is added, it's fine by me. What do yu think ?-- 15:46, 21 November 2006 (PST)
- That's a great idea to save the weekly headaches :) Regarding the image, it is great. Regarding the leader part, you're right about keeping it concise, but I don't want to be insisting but seriously I would give away the "courageous" line for the "leader" any time of the day, so to meet in the middle, how about this: "A courageous leader, Sayid Jarrah is a....." ? I think it is both concise and intact ...hmmmmm ? (I actually hope you agree so I can go sleep :) )-- 16:00, 21 November 2006 (PST)
- Sorry Nick, but I really want to know how this minor issue will be finalized, and I must log off very soon..so ?-- 16:28, 21 November 2006 (PST)
- No problem at all, and thanks Nick for all your excellent efforts. Regards -- 05:19, 22 November 2006 (PST)

Actually in this particular episode, many deserve a medal, really, including Obi, Marik and yourself! (Maybe we should consider to sharing). Anyways, I'm glad I could be of help, and yes I was already thinking to try and pitch in with your massive work and Obi's on non nominated episodes, also to let others have the encouragement of the medal (really sorry if I wasted the chance in this round):)
Yeah, and please free to use my adopted medal design, I'd love that! Thanks again. Regards-- 13:18, 26 November 2006 (PST)
Main Page
Hi Nick, Question: shouldn't the Main Page be displaying Sayid as the ATWO by now...? Thanks-- 22:29, 26 November 2006 (PST)
- Yep, you're right..thanks!-- 05:15, 27 November 2006 (PST)

I'm squealing like a giddy little kid. I think I've got a hernia from lifting the box though, its SO damn heavy! -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 05:01, 27 November 2006 (PST)
- Just Gears of War, though I might be going back after work to get FIFA 07 or Pro Evo 6 and an extra pad. I gotta weigh up if the extra £80 is worth it :-) -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 05:26, 27 November 2006 (PST)
This Weeks Podcast
Was that you on the podcast who got the theorys slammed? I just wondered when i saw you'd spoken to Annabel. I thought the guy sounded a bit older than I though you'd sound if ya get me, but if it was you good job and it's great hearing broad views on that class publication. I was thinking of giving a shout out to this site on the next podcast if they let me back on, because it deserves it, as I think it's safe to assume that most of the facts revealed on the podcast come from here anyway and it's a good bit of advertisement for the site. --Joe 08:12, 27 November 2006 (PST)
- It was mentioned before, mid last-season, but only briefly. They are most definitely aware and I know I refer to the site when I'm doing my research on an episode. I think it would be best mentioned on the podcast for episode six as a great place for UK fans to get their Lost fix in the hiatus, that way preventing major spoilers for people. Why were you speaking to Annabel, she's really nice, I trust you liked her. Also what do you think to a non-canon page for Iain Lee, Paul Terry and Geeky Tom as I think they're as deserving as some on here, contributing a lot to the experience, especially Paul and Iain. See what you think --Joe 08:39, 27 November 2006 (PST)
Brock/nuthead etc.
Looks like I missed out on some fun there. Whats that freak all about then? -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 08:17, 30 November 2006 (PST)
Uploading Promotional Photos
Hey Nick. When uploading promotional photos, should I cut the bottom on the photo like in screen caps? Thanks, Obi-Dan Kenobi 16:37, 30 November 2006 (PST)

Delete?
I see that you asked a very good question on the page Talk:Arrow Orientation Film on June 29, back when you weren't sysop. Now that you are, and seeing that the recommendation for deletion of that page was unanimous, I'm tempted to reiterate your question. :) Cheers 20:57, 3 December 2006 (PST)
AotW: Blast door map
- How does this sound for a sample text? It is basically a crude recap of what it says at the top of the page:
The blast door map is a huge, hand-drawn map of the Island that was started by Radzinsky, according to Kelvin Inman. It is found on one of the blast doors that descend during a Lockdown procedure and can be seen only under black light. Locke saw the blast door map while being trapped under the blast door in the Lockedown Incident. There are at least two types of notations on the map: printed notes in English, which are very factual and seem informed; and Latin-language notes in a cursive hand, which are more observational and speculative—even philosophical. Beneath the writings and drawings is a topographical map. – Liz

Reason
Hi Nick, what was your reason for getting rid of this? --SilvaStorm
Another Blas tDoo rMap sample text.
Like Liz, I've got my own little sample text. I think it's better than Liz's (no offense, Liz) but it's up to you. Also add your own edits to it if you want, just use it as a rough guideline. But please keep that last sentence.
Painted by Radzinsky and Kelvin, the Blast Door Map is one of the most intriguing Lost story arcs. Although Locke only saw it for a few seconds, it has been one of the most scrutinised and looked into mysteries by Lost's religious fans. Have a look at Lostpedia's analysis and theories on every station, notation, and equation. --Blueeagleislander 23:44, 6 December 2006 (PST)
