Sig

Please don't subst your sig. You may need to create an autosig page that contains the your sig template. We'd rather http://www.lostpedia.com/skins/common/images/button_sig.png Your signature with timestampnot have sig code taking over discussion pages.    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 11:54, 19 March 2007 (PDT)

No problem at all. Took me a bit of searching but I figured it out. Thanks for the assistance.   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   12:04, 19 March 2007 (PDT)

Your sig is still displaying code on talk pages. On your preferences if you enter {{SUBST:User:Hooper/autosig}} where it says signature and click on the raw signature button you should be sorted. Good Luck DrGiggles 09:12, 21 March 2007 (PDT)

Voice actors

Could you please stop changing the word dubs to dubbed. dubs is the correct term. It does not need to be changed. -Mr.Leaf 13:43, 22 March 2007 (PDT)

However, Boone has appeared again and Shannon is set to appear again. Also, almost every country that has lost dubbed is months if not years behind the US. Therefore in those countries it might still be Season 1 and Season 2. And no other countries that have Lost dubbed are on Season 3, so Eko is definitely still alive. It also is correct to use dubs over dubbed even if they characters are dead. -Mr.Leaf 13:47, 22 March 2007 (PDT)

HTPC

As far as I know, MacOS isn't a very big player in the HTPC market. You could try checking around on forums such as http://www.avsforum.com or http://www.htpcnews.com. I'm using MythTV to do the tuning and recording, then using the VLC software to grab snapshots. I'm not using VLC to do the recording. Looks like there may be a way to get MythTV working on the Mac. Check out this page.    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 11:25, 23 March 2007 (PDT)

Hmmmmm

Billy Dee Williams/Theories - Put that there so I don't have to hunt down that List of Theory page thing to get it out of Orphaned Pages.   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   16:41, 2 April 2007 (PDT)

Userpage

Hey you might want to get permission for User:Mr. Leaf before you copy his userpage. I'd be surprised if he said no, but just to make sure. I say thjis because Leaf recently put something on his userpage about getting permission before copying his userpage. Thanks --Mr. Crabby (Talk) 05:50, 24 March 2007 (PDT)

No, its fine, i don't mind. As long as people ask or someone put credit on it or something. It's to stop the people from stealing it without any intentions of thanking me or anything. although there isn't really anything i can do about it. But its fine. -Mr.Leaf 13:05, 24 March 2007 (PDT)
Sorry to ask you thi, but would you mind putting somewhere on your userpage that it was designed by me and preferably if you don't mind, telling people to ask if they want to use it. Turns out people are now taking your userpage without permission which is just like taking mine without asking which really is frowned upon highly. I don't mind a couple people using it but it is supposed to be original to me. Thanks again, if you don't mind, it is really appreciated. -Mr.Leaf 12:01, 29 March 2007 (PDT)

Your sig

Please fix how your implement your sig. Currently it is spewing raw code all over each talk page you apply it to. Please see Help:Signatures if you have any questions; if you can't figure it out, please follow the "Dummyproof Method" section in that article. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 01:50, 25 March 2007 (PDT)

  • Actually I don't think you need to do that. I suspect your /autosig was not implemented in your preferences. See link above. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 14:52, 25 March 2007 (PDT)

I am Xenu : i will not Destroy you Though

Thanks for your support: yes i came to lostpedia just to post my theory, and i will prob only really work on that one article. i enjoy lostpedia, but i am not really that fussed about editing. Yes i chose Tom Cruise as a Joke. I am unsure of JJ's History with Sci, but seeing as he is clearly interested in Jung's Archetypes and Psychology/Mythology in General he will no doubt have investigated Scientology and perhaps even been audited. I will try and maintain a neutral standpoint. But the simple idea of a Analogous Critique of Scientology as the premise allows the writers to go off in any number of directions. IMO many of the hairbrain theories knocking around are over thought out and frankly ridicilous.

also are you a sysop here?

TomCruise 10:21, 26 March 2007 (PDT)

Heh heh, nanobots and purgatory both... watch this Scientology one come true or something. --CastorTroy 11:13, 26 March 2007 (PDT)

" I'm LOST" trying to save the world

hey hooper, new to lostpedia. huge fan of the show. wanted to share this with you. it hangs on the end of LOST theories, Scientology and EXPERIENCE. regardless, hope you enjoy Link removed by SysOp. if you are reading this comment you already know that dharma will not save pushing the button until they save the world Enturbulate

wikifying the "truth"

hi hooper. just so you know, i highly doubt any "scientologists" are making edits to Lostpedia or reading the articles. I do agree with possibly removing links or content that interupts articles. Nevertheless, what you may not know, part of the Scientologist On-Line program (as in the legal agreement which they signed once they joined) includes Internet Filtering software that we have developed which blocks entheta email messages, and censors usage of various soucres via the world wide web. Enturbulate

Actually I know all about it. Thats why I removed the link. It is actually questionably legal internet censorship that has no place here. The article on possible theories of Lost involving Scientology is one thing, we do not need to send our viewers to slanted pages. Obviously, scientologists are making edits to lostpedia, as you just proved when you said "that we have developed." That is why I am paying obvious close attention. I appreciate your great enthusiasm on the article, but we do not need any form of religious slant.   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   15:28, 26 March 2007 (PDT)
  • alright sounds great. i agree and disagree. i'll be looking out for these "scientologists" that are on LOSTPEDIA. thanks. if you are reading this comment, the hanso group is on a witch hunt, its sole purpose is to stand at the vanguard of social and scientific research for the advancement of the human race via technological solutions to the most pressing problems of our time.Enturbulate
  • i think "WE" was a copypaste mistake - but on wikipedia scientology makes much reference to xenutv and its documents in its article, although xenutv does contain it does contain some slanted material, we are providing links to official scientology sites, which are VERY SLANTED. I mean the secrets will be revealed! although i am not in the pay of Xenu... YET!!!!! --TomCruise 15:34, 26 March 2007 (PDT)
  • Thanks for your help Hooper. I'm sorry I didn't get on it sooner, but looks like Mr. Leaf did. I think we're on the same page with this issue. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 17:52, 26 March 2007 (PDT)
  • BTW this type of theory article, especially a newly-created article that is currently in flux, are not really the reason for AAAs. It's more for long-standing articles that have a demonstrated need for focused attention. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 17:54, 26 March 2007 (PDT)

HEY HOOPER

i understand why my name and the article was a red-flag to you, when i as thinking of username i just thought it would be funny. and whilst i consider the articles themselves to be very serious, i assume that talk pages and discussion pages can include humour : i imagine that the lostpedia community is not a humour less community.

i am going to edit the article offline for a few days to strengthen the link directly to the show. Much of what was remove i feel is very relevant. but i fully understand why it was removed, my bad. I think perhaps the problem came because you alerted yourself and removed things whilest i was still working on it. Admitted i had saved it but i was reviewing it to see what else i could do to make the links stronger.

Theories tabs

I seem to understand that you are saying that you can't see the theories tabs at the top of the pages? As far as I'm aware, it's the first time such aproblem is mentioned. Very strange. (However, that explains why you were creating redundant theories sections links -- that would make sense from your point of view, if you can't see the tabs, although they seemed redundant for the rest of us.) What browser are you using for viewing Lostpedia? Also, do you use monobook, lostbook or another skin? Did you perhaps tweak something in your .css that might result in hiding the tabs? -- Cheers (talk) 09:51, 27 March 2007 (PDT)

Glad to see it was only the bar getting in the way and that the problem is fixed. As for linkage between the two pages, well that is the very purpose of the theory tabs. They are inserted automatically and their syntax is standard. Adding another link manually elsewhere would be, at best, redundant and it only risks resulting in a typo and an incorrect link, like what just happened with the small "t" in your manual link. Maybe, in a few cases where people tend to add many theories to an especially popular article, a reminder to go to the theories page instead migth be useful, but IMHO in most cases it is not necessary since linking to theories page was the very idea of creating the standard theory tabs in the first place. -- Cheers (talk) 10:23, 27 March 2007 (PDT)
