theory policy

  • Hi thanks for your recent contributions. I've had to remove one of your recent new pages. Please see our Theory policy subsection on what constitutes an official source for the purposes of Lostpedia's main article space: Lostpedia:Theory_policy#Present_qualified_information. In short fan sites (including IMDB) are not considered official. Since you did indeed cite a source, please note that such information from unofficial sources may be entered into the Season 3 prespoilers subpage here: S3/prespoilers. Thank you. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 01:15, 28 February 2007 (PST)
    • Hmm. OK, I can see some sense in that :) Hunter61 01:22, 28 February 2007 (PST)
    • Thanks. I didn't mean to step on your toes, we always like to see new contributors like yourself! Usually these new cast members are confirmed in a press release from ABC's press website, abcmedianet.com. After it's confirmed there we can unlock the page (or you can put a request to unlock it, citing the URL at abcmedianet), then please come back and add the information that you have. Kind regards, -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 01:52, 28 February 2007 (PST)

Season 3 Prespoilers

Hey there, just wanted to say good job with everything you've been doing on the Season 3/prespoilers article. Very impressive. Keep up the good work! --   Lost Soul   talk  contribs  01:53, 11 March 2007 (PST)

  • thx, my pleasure! Hunter61 01:56, 11 March 2007 (PST)
    • If you could, when updating a spoiler, please change the Summary to not show what you are changing. Most people camp on the recent changes list, and its hard to avoid spoilers when they are summarized in that list. This is part of the pending Spoiler policy. Thanks! --Samhain99 06:09, 28 March 2007 (PDT)
      • Good call. I hadn't realized that. I'll take care of it in the future.--Hunter61 08:37, 28 March 2007 (PDT)

brig Others

  • All of these are already in the article, with the exception of three, which are not (to our knowledge) recurring in other episodes. Please see the table in the main article. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 12:40, 12 May 2007 (PDT)

casting quesitons

  • Couple questions regarding the specifics of the article Kamakani De Dely‎:
    1. There are three roles mentioned: Tourniquet man re-do, Sgt. Horvath, and prison guard. Which of these roles are technically background extra roles, and which are credited speaking roles? (It's ok either way, it just changes which template we use, and how we specify these facts in the body text; we'll confirm later with the ABCmedianet press releases)
    2. Are Sgt. Horvath and "prison guard" both from "Live Together, Die Alone"?
    3. What is the source for the name "Sgt. Horvath"? This name is not mentioned in any of the ABCmedianet press releases, nor was it mentioned in dialog , so is as far as we know not an official credited character.
    4. Why is this "prison guard" specified, as compared to the many background extras who portrayed guards in this episode? If an extra, it may be listed as a fact in the article that De Dely portrayed an extra, but the current wording is misleading otherwise.
  • For each of the above, if you have online sources, please specify the URLs, or if you are the source, please specify those. You may leave your response on my talk page. Thank you in advance. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 05:41, 21 July 2007 (PDT)
  • Also any external links (e.g. talent agency, myspace, official site, etc.), short biographical information, or a headshot, would be useful if you can obtain these. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 05:43, 21 July 2007 (PDT)
  • Hi thanks. It still doesn't answer the above questions. If you cannot find verification of the information answering the above questions in that thread, then we will edit the article as necessary to remove questionable information, e.g. the existence of Sgt. Horvath, or the implication that the 3 items were credited roles. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 05:50, 21 July 2007 (PDT)
  • Ohhh that's the main redshirt thread with clayseason1. I guess I hadn't kept up with it recently. Yeah it's unclear what he is saying; I'll buy the tourniquet man part for now, but I'll double check to see if Tourniquet Man made the final cut and actually appeared in Expose; otherwise it's a non-appearing extra role, which is not significant. Also his "talks with casting" is very ambiguous whether he is referring to speaking parts or more background appearances, or whether the difference is clear even to him, which is a common dream among extras. On another note, now I recognize who you are! I remember you from that redshirts thread now, you've gone back and forth between the two sites with good information. As you can see our own background cast article now credits CS1 well (I've corresponded with her to try to mend fences, as the crediting was previously not clear), but still needs some work, especially with respect to the Flight 815 survivors. If you ever had the energy, that article needs a lot of TLC to get it up to par. I don't think we need to have every single unknown survivor without an actor name, but even those whose names are known are not completely represented or described in our article (background cast) yet. You'd be uniquely qualified as a great resource for this. Thanks either way. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 06:01, 21 July 2007 (PDT)
  • OK I didn't look at the pics yet. Do the pics confirm the tourniquet part, or do they only confirm that he was an extra on set for that scene? I'll go back to the episode later to look for him, because if he doesn't actually appear, it's a moot point and worth only a trivia bullet in the main Tourniquet Man article. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 06:03, 21 July 2007 (PDT)
  • Also, the "Sgt. Horvath" is then definitely not worth an article (or red link), but could be mentioned in a trivia bullet under the actor's article IF a screencap can be provided showing that his nametag is actually visible in the episode itself. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 06:06, 21 July 2007 (PDT)
  • OK did a bit more research. The upshot is I'm recommending the article for deletion, as he never appears in the actual episode AFAIK. Instead, Dale Radomski again is shown as Tourniquet Man. However De Dely is in a promotional still for the episode. I don't know if he was a standin, or the scene was shot two different ways, or his scene was deleted, but the bottom line is it didn't show in the episode. Therefore he's just an extra who did NOT get shown, or an extra in a deleted scene-- and we don't make articles for extras except under special cases, and we certainly don't have articles for extras who say they were on set, but don't actually get shown. His description of "Sgt. Horvath" as a role supports the inflation of his claims as well-- a nametag on wardrobe for an extra doesn't make it acting a role. Anyways, I wrote some more details in Talk:Kamakani De Dely along with screencaps. I'd really like to hear what you think, and take a look at the episode. In the mean time, I've also copyedited the Tourniquet man article. Thanks again for your help, and once we get this straightened out, please pass a clarification onto CS1. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 16:33, 21 July 2007 (PDT)
    • Found out some more stuff. I went back and rewatched the scene from 1x01 "Pilot, Part 1". Turns out the same exact footage was re-used in 3x14 "Exposé". Therefore it has to be Radomski. My main theories now are that 1) it was a rehearsal with standins and Terry O'Quinn, or 2) They really did film it with De Dely take after take for 3x14 (i.e. the film crew did this), but the editing crew decided to reject this and chose to re-use the footage from 1x01. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 22:15, 23 July 2007 (PDT)

Plagiarism

  • Just wanted to make a note that plagiarism of content is against site policy at Lostpedia. Your text in Nu‘uanu Pali‎ was directly lifted verbatim (word for word) from WP and this page. Please do not plagiarize in the future, and openly cite any outside sources you use. This may be done with links in the form of [http://www.site.com/url.html]. The use of quotations is also acceptable under most conditions, but must be clearly marked with quotation marks and the source. Thanks! -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 01:15, 28 September 2007 (PDT)

categories

hi there, unless your going to be filling in those image categories youve been making yourself, please stop making lots more because it means more work that doesnt really need to be done at the moment. Thanks --Lewis-Talk-Contribs 04:50, 3 November 2007 (PDT)

  • What do you think I've been doing the last hour? I think you're very ungrateful --Hunter61 04:55, 3 November 2007 (PDT)
  • I know you've been doing alot of categorising too, and thank you for that honestly, i think your a good asset to LP, im just saying that some of these categories are kind of unneeded in my opinion, for example, the hoax images category and the theory related category you just created only have 5 images between them. and they are both "really" sub categories of fan images. --Lewis-Talk-Contribs 05:16, 3 November 2007 (PDT)

Link on "The Watch"

Hey, I just want to make sure (as I don't don't go anywhere near anything spoiler-related) that the page you're linking to at DarkUFO doesn't have any other Season 4 spoilers. If it does, could you put a spoiler warning on the link? Thanks. -- Graft   talk   contributions  02:57, 7 November 2007 (PST)

  • The Numbers redirect is working for me; ie, if I search for "numbers", it goes to "The Numbers". Might just be a cache thing with your browser. -- Graft   talk   contributions  03:12, 7 November 2007 (PST)

spammers

  • Hey Hunter, thanks for your delete tags on the recent spam articles. Next time could you also drop me (or an active sysop) a line so we notice it too and can ban the user? Thanks again for your help. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 03:00, 13 November 2007 (PST)

Fantastic!

Well done on all your edits recently, I havn't been able to look at the Recent Changes board without seeing your name pop up multiple times, fantastic! Have you thought about creating a User Page? --Lewis-Talk-Contribs 01:42, 17 November 2007 (PST)

Sorry!

I didn't want that about a possible reboot to be visible in recent changes. Luckily enough, it's unfounded --Hunter61 00:32, 24 November 2007 (PST)

Whatever it was, a bunch of image edits will certainly help. ;) -- Graft   talk   contributions  01:06, 24 November 2007 (PST)

Working Hard Has It's Benefits..

Hi there Hunter, for your fantastic edits over the past month, almost non-stop categorising of images, I present you with this medal:

moved to userpage

If you decide to move this onto your UserPage, please replace the above with something like "Moved To User Page" --Lewis-Talk-Contribs 07:14, 30 November 2007 (PST)

Img

Hey there, I have been adding them anyway as mr.leaf told me to add them and if they come up as invalid he will either change them to the right ones, or add them to the script so it doesnt come up as invalid. It's up to you, but to avoid changing them later I suggest just changing them over now, then checking any invalid outputs and changing the script later. --Lewis-Talk-Contribs 08:41, 5 December 2007 (PST)

  • Thanks, I'm taking your word on this one as you're the resident expert-- Don't tell me more I don't want to know. Thanks for wiping the article text body clean before I got to it.-- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 13:18, 12 December 2007 (PST)

Copying and pasting from other sites

Don't want to see you get banned, you do a lot of good work around here. But you should know that plagiarism is not allowed. In your recent John Bartley edit, you copied and pasted directly from another site. -- Graft   talk   contributions  03:48, 15 December 2007 (PST)

    • It was a promotional piece anyway, but I'll reverse it

Re:Vandal

  • He's been banned. Thanks. -Mr.Leaf 10:55, 12 January 2008 (PST)

spoiler question

  • Hey, wanted to ask you a question. I don't patrol the spoiler page but I just deleted a bunch of articles (see recent changes, Jan 19, about 11:50-11:51). These articles are spoilers right? In other words, not released officially by ABC right? Thanks for your help as always. Please don't spoil me when answering, I just need to re-confirm whether these article titles are indeed spoilers or not. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 03:55, 19 January 2008 (PST)
  • Thanks again for all your help, as we sysops do not really patrol that area of the wiki, and I think you've done a good job making sure every entry cites a specific source. Anyways, are you available? Could I chat with you a bit on Lostpedia:Chat (click Java chat)? -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 02:32, 21 January 2008 (PST)
  • Anyways, re: your question, the decision is to take it down asap, whatever it is. Please msg my talk page when you are finished. Thanks! -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 14:05, 21 January 2008 (PST)
  • Thanks once again... thank you for you diligence. Please don't hesitate to drop me notes on similar articles you may clean up in the future. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 04:52, 3 February 2008 (PST)
  • On another related issue, could you drop me an email by clicking on my Email-user link? -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 16:26, 29 February 2008 (PST)

Season 4 flashforwards information

I've removed the info you added about season 4 flashforwards. We shouldn't include that kind of information about future episodes, even if it is very general in nature. It is treading on spoiler information. -- Graft   talk   contributions  01:46, 2 February 2008 (PST)

Contact Me

Hi, could you do me a favour, and email me (use the email button on my tag to the right) please. I have something I need to discuss with you!  Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  05:48, 7 February 2008 (PST)

Kualoa

  • Hey Hunter, just wanted to note what I did to the Kualoa Ranch page. It was mentioned in the 4x03 enhanced transcripts, but actually the ranch has been used in probably 75% of all episodes, so it was misleading to note only 4x03. For now I did the following: 1) replace the episode list with a statement that it was mentioned in the enhanced 4x03e captions; and 2) added an external link where you can research (click on "Episodes") all of the episodes where the ranch was used, if you want a comprehensive listing. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 03:23, 24 February 2008 (PST)

Article delete noms

Hey man, I know they're clearly irrelevant, but please add talk page explanations for delete nominations, even when they're as blatant as for Tracey and Owen theory pages. It just helps guide discussion. Cheers, --Nickb123 (Talk) 11:28, 1 March 2008 (PST)

Southfield's

I think "Southfield's" (note apostrophe, which was what was on the podium) was meant to be the auction house... like "Sotheby's"... Robert K S 22:18, 1 March 2008 (PST)

Poor Hunter! I feel for you, brother. Robert K S 22:48, 1 March 2008 (PST)

I can't justify that a person involved with Lost is active on the encyclopedia is worth emblazoning on article pages. A separate but equally important issue is that if we want insiders to participate here, we should afford them a relatively low profile so that they don't get in trouble. Robert K S (talk) 11:35, 26 March 2008 (PDT)

It's not really unsourced: It links to Hannsz's page, which provides a link to his MySpace. And if there's any doubt or question in the future, the sourcing is noted on the talk page. I can't think of any other page where we give credit to a Lostpedia user as the source of information. It seems inappropriate. If you want to copy the link to Hannsz's MySpace page onto the Black Rock Storm page as sourcing, that would be more suitable. Robert K S (talk) 11:47, 26 March 2008 (PDT)

Image categories

I noticed you were doing a bunch of work on image categorization; thanks for helping to keep up with that. About the "product" category, I think the idea behind that is for things like logos or products within the show; whereas "merchandise" is for real-world promotional material like dvd covers, official jigsaw puzzle images, action figures, etc. (I went and changed all those). Also, I made a template a while ago called Template:Image category that can be used when you are unsure how to categorize an image. For instance, if you don't know which episode it is from, just use {{image category|episode number}}, and it will place that image in Category:Uncategorized images. I also made a few more categories to keep in mind, "talk page images" and "blooper images". And don't forget to add copyright status - even if you do not know, just put "unclassified" (or "copy=unsure" if using the image template). Thanks. -- Graft   talk   contributions  19:48, 26 March 2008 (PDT)

Guest Star

Hey, you're coming up as a guest star, and unless you've had the privilege of working with the LOST cast then I think it's a mistake. But I didn't want to edit your user page without permission.--MetallichickX 01:12, 28 March 2008 (PDT)

pause

Please don't be a wiki bully. a person that arbitrarily disagrees or does not see something and deletes it hurredly. I have run into this with many wikis, and often the decision was as much a knee jerk action, and less thought was p ut into the deletion than the responses it generates. Hey I see you got a map pic of Tunisia for the Tunisia in Lost page. Do you know where I can get one of the same style for Indonesia in Lost? Thanks, --Nickb123 (Talk) 06:40, 16 May 2008 (PDT)
