- I'm not really sure what to do about watermarked images. If we took it in low resolution, and used one image to illustrate the article, it might be okay, but I'm unfamiliar with the issues involved. I've deleted it for now. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 17:24, 11 March 2007 (PDT)
- Check with plkrtn. I really don't know so that's why I asked. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 17:27, 11 March 2007 (PDT)
- The presence or absence of a mark such as this one doesn't make any difference at all about the use of copyrighted material. It helps identify the source and/or the copyright owner, and helps alert the viewer to the fact that if anyone claims that the image is in the public domain, such a claim is bullshit. Like a (C) sign, it does not make the image any "more copyrighted" than the unmarked image already was without it. An unmarked copyrighted image is no less copyrighted than a marked one. The mark makes the source more easily identifiable. -- Cheers 17:54, 11 March 2007 (PDT)
- Yes, but the image may have been marked with a (c) on the site it was taken from. I didn't know the circumstances so that is why I asked. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 18:14, 11 March 2007 (PDT)
- Yes, but it's still only information. It does not matter if an image has a watermark, a (C), the autograph of the photographer, or none of those, it still makes no difference in its copyright status. In other words, there are no less (or no more) consequences to using the image, with or without those marks. -- Cheers 18:30, 11 March 2007 (PDT)

- Just throwing my two cents in, yeah, the watermark just displays where the image originated. There was a big problem a while back with the site eBaum's world stealing pictures w/o watermarks from comedy sites and placing their own watermark on it. The other sites couldn't do anything about it, so they just started putting their own watermark on images. -CastorTroy 18:36, 11 March 2007 (PDT)

ban banner
Sorry--Nokia (Talk) (Email) (Contribs) 08:23, 13 March 2007 (PDT)
PD
I just popped on, and noticed you banned a couple of addresses for being Princess Dharma sockpuppets. Has she really taken to vandalism now? That's so sad! I really don't understand what happened to her, she used to be so nice, and then got so bitter so fast... -BearDog 13:10, 14 March 2007 (PDT)
Signature
Silly question, but a new user here, and was wondering how I may go about placing coding for my own unique signature (much like yours.)
Thanks for any help. Have a great day. Hooper 11:42, 19 March 2007 (PDT)
Actually, who would of thought that the Help Section about creating your own signature would answer my question?? ;) Handled it myself. Thanks Hooper 11:46, 19 March 2007 (PDT)
Sorry to bug your talk page a third time, but a test seems to be in order, so here goes: {{SUBST:User:your Hooper/sig}} 11:52, 19 March 2007 (PDT)

Enter 77
Your erasing 11 days of contributions and 130 contributions by 65 different contributors, in the article Enter 77, seems a tad extreme. (And labeling it as a minor edit sure is the understatement of the month.) Am I correect in guessing that was not your intention? -- User:Cheers (talk) 14:31, 19 March 2007 (PDT)
Goodbye
Hi Jabrwocky7 I had some sad news I'm leaving lostpedia I'm going to be helping with another wiki and I won't have time to edit here anymore so goodbye I'll miss you.--Nokia (Talk) (Email) (Contribs) 16:04, 19 March 2007 (PDT)

Infobox
All I did was add a link to the infobox so people didn't think it meant he was 10 when he met Tricia Tanaka, and just fo the record, I didn't put that "he was 10 in the Tricia Tanaka flashback", that was someone else. *Mothven*
Vandal
Just wanted to let you know there is another vandal, Git something, and he vandalized the Ray Mullen article. I fixed it, but could you do something about it? He's under Recent Changes. Thanks. --Berethor222 07:15, 22 March 2007 (PDT)
Orphaned Pages
I've been trying to clear out the orphaned pages a bit. There are a couple parody pages that are categorized correctly but I really can't figure out what else they would even need to link to. I thought maybe making a nav-parody would work, but I don't know if that would clear them off the orphaned list and I doubt I have that kind of coding knowledge. Is there any way to prevent something from showing up on the orphaned list if it is categorized correctly but can not logically be linked from anywhere??? Hooper talk contribs email 09:06, 22 March 2007 (PDT)
Spoiler Policy
I know that this is only a proposed policy, but couldn't lostpedia change the edit options on pages tagged as spoilers so that the summary option isn't available or defaulted to "spoiler change"? --Samhain99 09:43, 22 March 2007 (PDT)
- Not really. It would require an extensive hack into the Mediawiki software which would have to be redone after each software upgrade. It's not really worth the effort. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 10:04, 22 March 2007 (PDT)

Do like this new template? It can be used to warn people.--SAGE18 12:32, 22 March 2007 (PDT)

HD
Hey there. You mentioned supplying the Tamara badge from your HD feed so I'm assuming you aren't getting it off lost media. Just curious - how do you get your feed, and how do you transfer it to your computer? --Jackdavinci 09:50, 23 March 2007 (PDT)
I noticed this conversation and have a question of my own. I have a MacPro G4 extra computer (I primarily use PCs but I was given this) and was told there is some hardware I can purchase that will allow me to shore my cable into the mac and provide HDTV. Anychance you may know what this is, as I already have the VLC media player you spoke of using so I may be able to replicate what you've got going on. Hopefully, atleast. Ñew theory
Hi. Could you add my theory under theory categories please? It's here. I think it's a realistic theory, maybe with psychological influences. aykut 05:41, 7 April 2007 (PDT)

Eddie Kitsis
I was wondering about the rationale for renaming this article being insufficient. Aren't most articles on cast/crew in Lostpedia based on how they are credited (specifically for Lost, if they are credited with variations in different work), rather than nicknames? In this sense we should change Henry Ian Cusick to Ian Cusick, etc. IMO it opens a can of worms to use nicknames. Anyways I wanted to check with you first. Also, the external link to Variety in the article spells the nickname "Eddy" rather than "Eddie". -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 12:36, 9 April 2007 (PDT)
- Hmmm... I suppose you may be right. I'd have no problem if you name it back. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 13:27, 9 April 2007 (PDT)

CSS Help
- Hey there, I asked this to User:Plkrtn but I saw he hasn't been on in a few days, and you have, and I want this sorted asap. I really hope you can help me; I have made a wiki and I'm crap with CSS. Basically, I want to change the default font for the site to font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; but I don't know how. Do you have any idea? I'd be extremely grateful for the help. Flashbacks
Last time I added the flashback character names to the nav, Nick reverted it back saying people don't want to be spoiled. I'm not aware of MrLeaf's compromise? -Chris[dt7]
- Fair enough, but when I edited it out the text was the characters' names, and not "Confirmed". -Chris[dt7] 08:44, 1 May 2007 (PDT)
Banners and Stuff
- Hi there. Loving the themed banners that come with Lostbook: very flash. I have made my own Wikia, and would like to do something similar. So I have a few questions; a) What are the dimensions for the banner?; and b) How do you add it to the CSS? I'd love to be able to do this! Thanks a lot! -- Lost Soul talk contribs 08:29, 2 May 2007 (PDT)
- It didn't work totally for me... this is the url of my image. It has the same dimensions you told me and everything but when I put it in therethe page obscures it. How do you make it like on here, with everything moved down so it's visible? I hope you can help... Thanks, -- Lost Soul talk contribs 08:16, 5 May 2007 (PDT)
Database Error
On my Watchlist, I have the "Manual of Style" page marked, and an email notification system ser up for it. Today, I clicked on the link http://lostpedia.com/index.php?title=Lostpedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_proposed&diff=0&oldid=235897
and it came up with a Database Error saying...
(begin here) The database did not find the text of a page that it should have found, named "Lostpedia talk:Manual of Style proposed (Diff: 235897, 0)".
This is usually caused by following an outdated diff or history link to a page that has been deleted.
If this is not the case, you may have found a bug in the software. Please report this to an administrator, making note of the URL. (end here)

Mr. Straw Man
I don't appreciate you dismissing all of my arguments as "straw man" arguments. Repeatedly using that tactic is very rude and does not contribute to the discussion. I do not understand why you couldn't argue the facts instead of calling me names. Were you trying to be funny? I tried very hard to have a civil discussion about the topic, and your apparent rudeness made it very difficult. -- Dagg talk contribs4 8 23:28, 9 May 2007 (PDT)
- The fact of the matter is that instead of logically arguing your position you were twisting the statements of others and setting up a straw man fallacy. Please read more about it here. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 06:44, 10 May 2007 (PDT)
- Could you please explain further how my argument was a straw man? Specifically with the last example, I'll copy the words exactly as they were said:
- You said: "I never said that the urbandictionary definition was to be used as a litmus test for what is and what isn't a mindfuck."
- I said: "Ok, so it sounds like the urban dictionary definition cannot be used (per Jabberwock above)."
- You said: "Once again Mr Straw Man you are changing my words to suit your argument. I said it shouldn't be used as a litmus test."
- I fail to see how or why you invoked straw man. Specifically, I fail to see how I was changing your words. I stick to my conclusion, which could be written thusly: "If the urban dictionary definition cannot be used as a litmus test, then it cannot be used. We need a better definition of Mindfuck that can be used as a litmus test."-- Dagg talk contribs4 8 08:04, 10 May 2007 (PDT)
- You edited what I said to suit your purposes. I never said that it should not be used at all. I said it shouldn't be used as a litmus test. You didn't argue the point that it that if it shouldn't be used as a litmus it shouldn't be used at all, but instead you misrepresented what I said for the purpose of your own argument. That is what is done in a straw-man argument. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 08:14, 10 May 2007 (PDT)
- It sounds like we are disagreeing about the usage of "cannot be used" versus "cannot be used as a litmus test". I honestly thought (and I still think) that in this particular occasion that "cannot be used as a litmus test" = "cannot be used". I was not attempting to twist your words. I apologize for giving you that impression. -- Dagg talk contribs4 8 08:42, 10 May 2007 (PDT)

3x20 Credits
Would you mind doing me a favour, if possible. If your recored version of last nights episode has the credits included would you mind taking a look and confirming that the following names are spelled correctly:
- Gregory Suenaga (as Dharma Rep. 1)
- Diamente Keilo (as Dharma Rep. 2)
- Jenn Boneza (as Dharma Welcomer) Although I am 99% sure of this one.
I just need confirmation that their names are spelled correctly. The three are not credited in the press release but are in the closing credits of the episode. Thanks again. -Mr.Leaf 13:14, 10 May 2007 (PDT)
- Here's the co-stars from the end credits:

Hey could you get some caps for the episode article for me? Here's the list:
- One of the opening scene, the group walking to Jack's place.
- One of Juliet explaining about the station being called "The Looking Glass."
- One of Charlie accepting his mission after Karl has arrived. Could be one of him and Desmond, or whatever.
- Hurley hugging Charlie.
They're for the episode article. If you wanna jus link me, I'll incorporate them later, or if you wanna do it that's cool. Cheers for all that, --Nickb123 (Talk) 06:23, 18 May 2007 (PDT)
