Cont. "Opinion?"

Ah I just put the extension in it because all other Find 815 pages have that so far. I had the idea for the mail page as I was looking for them specifically and pretty soon there are going to be so many pages that looking for a specific e-mail will get difficult, so I thought id put them all in one place. If you do decide to delete it however could you move it to User:Lewisg/Sam Thomas correspondence Thanks man --Lewis-Talk-Contribs 08:11, 3 January 2008 (PST)

lol yeah I know what you mean, although with the "by month" thing, do we really need that considering its only over one month really, with 2 days on the previous month? See Talk:Find 815 clues/January --Lewis-Talk-Contribs 08:15, 3 January 2008 (PST)

Fonts

Your page clutter guide says that most fonts you tried "this wiki uses". This is a misnomer. The wiki has nothing to do with it, what matters is that the user's computer has it. For example, on my computer I have a "Harry Potter" font, which attempts to replicates the font used on promotional material relating to that brand. This sentence is written in that font. Just an FYI. --Sloths 19:49, 26 January 2008 (PST)

Diary

  • Thought I'd drop you a line since I posted Diary transcript. The fansite that had transcribed through Day 42 was down, so I pulled it up from archive.org to post at LP. I've credited the original URL. Take a look and see if it's done the way it should be, since TLE is your expertise. Do we have past Day 42 somewhere? -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 14:35, 30 January 2008 (PST)

transcripts?

I just noticed that you were credited with the transcript for 4x02. I created the transcript for 4x03 (after many hours of work, lol), should I have credited myself with it? I was under the assumption that I should not. -- WanderingMathematician  talk  contribs  email  19:00, 19 February 2008 (PST)

Elliot Maslow

Nickb123-
I was wondering if you could change the ELLIOT page to ELLIOT MASLOW since it has been confirmed that Maslow is his last name. Thanks,

Upload

can i upload a .zip folder ([LOST Countdown]) if so how? {{User:David Gee/autosig}} 07:07, 23 February 2008 (PST)

Thanks for the reply

RE: Car

I saw your post on Marik's userpage, and I belive that it is a '69 Dodge Pickup with mild customization. I put a link onto his page (by accident), to an actual '69 pickup, so check that out and voice your opinion. How does this relate to lost, anyhow? :) --Rhcm123|talk|contributions 15:22, 26 February 2008 (PST)

Bob

I'm planning to return to this site shortly, so prepare for a series of massive vandal strikes if you do not comply with my term (you should know what they are by now). See my talk page for details. Regards, Oli M. Silent51 03:21, 2 March 2008 (PST)

  • What exactly is he threataning (Quickly backs up user page code)? Just wondering, as I was looking at the banned users list, and there is like 50 variations on bob. What exactly did he do? (Now I know why people hate vandals: They keep coming back.) P.S. Does he use the same IP? If so, perhaps blocking it would be a good idea. --Rhcm123|talk|contributions 20:50, 5 March 2008 (PST)

Colleen

I'm curious why you moved Colleen to Colleen Pickett? There's no source on it, and the lengthy discussion on the talk page seemed to favor leaving it at Colleen. --Minderbinder 13:20, 7 March 2008 (PST)

As you say, it was only presumed, not known for sure - I thought lostpedia only listed things that were known for sure. And if you look at the discussion on that page, it seems to heavily favor leaving off the last name - it's puzzling why the change was made since it seems to ignore the discussion and consensus there. --Minderbinder 07:04, 10 March 2008 (PDT)

Bob

I'm looking at some edits from a Mr. Olvier Mitchell, do you happen to know what his "demands" are? I'm in no way saying we should give him what he wants, but I'm just curious since he devotes so much time into being a major douche bag. He is a very bad bluffer, and his "attack" on Lostpedia will be little more than a few Bob clones editing the hurley page. -- Iron Man  Send a message  View contributions  12:28, 12 March 2008 (PDT)

Sig

Hi i need some help with my signature, the grey border on the outside, is only meant to go around the ">: David Gee", but instead goes around the entire signature. any ideas?

Do you still need this image? It's up for deletion, but appears to be TLE related.    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 19:36, 5 April 2008 (PDT)

Cast/Crew Interviews idea

Broken link

Just a minor one. i don't know how to fix this kind of stuff. http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Miles_Straume Jacob's Cabin link near the bottom of the page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Matthew7785 (talkcontribs) 2008-04-27T16:26:36.

Fixed. I can't explain why it was redlinked; it was just a capitalization error, and typing Jacob's Cabin into the search bar and hitting "Go" leads directly to Jacob's cabin with no redirect. Robert K S (talk) 15:30, 27 April 2008 (PDT)

Interviews

  • Over on the forum, I'm conducting an interview with Jamie Silberhartz. I'm going to post the transcript on here; basically, I know you were involved in TLE, so I was wondering if you had any questions that I can send to her, maybe to clear up a few unanswered issues or to give an insight as to how the Experience was created and executed? I was involved to an extent, but only from the HansoExposed stage onwards, so would appreciate some questions from the first few stages. Cheers,--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  00:57, 14 May 2008 (PDT)

Lost: Via Domus Episodes

Hey Nick-
I think you can go ahead and rename the Via Domus episode pages to their titles. It has been three days and no one has voted to not rename the pages. I think the pages should be renamed to their actual titles.
Thanks,
--CTS 16:07, 18 May 2008 (PDT)

Die on the Island?

Greetings -

I keep seeing "Once you are one the Island, you must die on the Island," occasionally with some creative spelling<grin>. When I google the words, all I get are references to talk pages.... Do you happen to know where this originally came from?

Thanks,

--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 15:21, 25 May 2008 (PDT)

Thanks for the point in the right direction. I had started to delete a paragraph and wondered if the sentiment was really important.

--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 17:08, 25 May 2008 (PDT)

Hi Nickb123 - Sure! Sorry. Where can I post videos? I thought they were cool and a fun addition to Lostpedia, that's all. Bonnar

Thanks for the tip, Nickb123! Much appreciated. --LockeRules 21:42, 31 May 2008 (PDT)

Rename

There's a healthy rename debate going on at Talk:Timeline:Post-Island, there's no real concensus yet, but I think it'd be good to get a few SysOps to weigh in. --Gluphokquen Gunih 20:33, 3 June 2008 (PDT)

bring back the casualties petition

After the events that happend with deleting the 5 casualty articles, me and some other users started a petition for bringing those articles back on Lostpedia. If you share our opinion on this matter, please sign the "Save The Redshirts" section on my user page. If you want you could contact other users about this or create a "Save the redshirts" section on your user page, because the goal is to get as many users to sign the petition as possible along with 6 SysOps (Admins). I would appriciate a quick respond and a sign on either my user page or User:LostCloverfield42's page. --O r h a n 9 4

delete image

Hey could you do me a favor and delete my image I recently uploaded? http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Image:IMG_grayshirttailie.jpg I made a mistake in uploading it and wish for it to be erased. Thanks.--Mistertrouble189 16:43, 19 June 2008 (PDT)

Talk:Man (Left Behind)

I'm sorry, but I don't understand why you ended the discussion at Talk:Man (Left Behind). I think it was still going on. Could I possibly renominate it for a rename, or would that go against some forms of policy? -- Sam McPherson  T  C  09:26, 21 June 2008 (PDT)

I may renominate it sometime later, then. I was kinda thinking that was what was going on anyways. On another, unrelated note, could you unlock the interview pages for a few minutes so that I can add an illustrative image of the actor to it, and then lock them back? I had been talking about this with Santa, and then I realized that I couldn't add images to them because they were locked. Thanks! -- Sam McPherson  T  C  09:48, 21 June 2008 (PDT)
Thanks! I got it done. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  10:07, 21 June 2008 (PDT)

Lostpedia Quote of the Day / Week

Hey, I saw your message on Santa's talk page. I think it would be a good idea if the users nominated/submitted quotes that could be generated randomly. I think this would be better than just randomly taking quotes from random transcripts because they would be good, genuine, iconic quotes that a lot of fans can relate to. Do you have any thoughts on this? -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 12:41, 30 June 2008 (PDT)

Okay, thanks for the explanation! -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 13:56, 30 June 2008 (PDT)

quotes

  • Great idea. I'm not sure polar has a quote script though. It does have a Sawyer-only quote script. I think someone else was running the quotes, ask User:MacCutcheon. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 16:31, 30 June 2008 (PDT)

RE:Jamie

Languages

About which nav goes on this page I'm thinking the themes and lists nav too. It's a list after all. And could you rename the page to Character languages because the title is a mistake which I made while creating this page.
And another thing, I would like to appologize about posting the petition post on your talk page few weeks back, I know it was a "spammy thing" to do and also it upsseted a lot of users. So if you accept the apologize please write on my user talk page OK.--O r h a n 9 4 11:01, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

The Frog

Why can't The Frog have a character box? Vincent has one. Equal opportunity for amphibians! (In all seriousness, the Frog already had one when I started fleshing the page out, I just added as many lines of detail to it as I could b/c I thought it was funny. I especially liked that every reference refers to the exact same episode.)  Kevrock   talk  contribs   12:06, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

Images

Okay, thanks. I just didn't want to upload images from another site before I was sure it is legal to do (with copyrights and everything). -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 16:48, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

Just one more question. If the image is not a promo, what should I put in the edit summary? -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 16:58, 1 July 2008 (PDT)
Okay, thanks! -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 17:04, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

Question

I know there is already an interview portal, but perhaps there could be a page for Lostpedia Interviews, to give a summary of what they're about, who conducts them, what to do if you want to do an interview. Would that be good, or would I need to add that on to the portal? -- Sam McPherson  T  C  17:29, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

Well, sort of like my sandbox, but not exactly. And I just put Kitty because we'd talked to her about it on the forums, but I agree, Plkrtn is a better bet. And I agree about the more links being needed. And yeah, I agree. I was basically rephrasing what Kitty had posted on the forums. But I don't know if an intro to the portal would necessarily be the best idea (it's fairly cluttered as it is). -- Sam McPherson  T  C  17:56, 1 July 2008 (PDT)
Oh, it will be. Well, not really cluttered, but a full page's worth of portals. I've got 12 more interviews coming up/to be posted. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  18:03, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

No Larger than 150 KB

I've uploaded some images and have received warnings that you shouldn't upload images larger than 150 KB. Is it still okay to do so? -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 20:40, 2 July 2008 (PDT)

Okay, thanks for answering all my uploading questions :) -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 11:10, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

Jorge

Great question. Incidentally (and quite spookily, actually), someone asked that earlier on the forums. I find that interesting. ;) Oh, by the way, the Jamie Silberhartz interview should be up within the next week or so. :)--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  07:53, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

  • Well, yes. That's exactly one of the reasons I do this - as fans, we want to know different things to what journalists do. These are questions made by the fans, for the fans (urgh, cliche! but it serves my purpose). And as for Jamie, I definitely did use your questions - I didn't have many to choose from! It's a good interview, but as I didn't follow TLE particularly I didn't know what she was talking about all of the time. and happy birthday in advance! :)--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  08:16, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

TLE Interviews

Noticed you were a Lost Experience fan. Well...there may be an interview with Thomas Mittelwerk coming up. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  08:24, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

Well, if it comes. I've only managed to get contact details as of yet...but you'll be the first to know if it happens. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  08:38, 3 July 2008 (PDT)
I think LS actually contacted Javi, but I'm not sure. To tell you truth, I wasn't really ARG hip back in the time of TLE. I watched a few videos on YouTube, but I never really got into the clue digging, and I'm sure there's tons I have no idea about. That's why I'm relying on you. Haha. But I'll be sending Mr. Greygrass the interview in a week or two. So prepare your questions, just in case....-- Sam McPherson  T  C  08:46, 3 July 2008 (PDT)
  • I did, but he stopped contact. I think he's busy at the moment with his new drama on ABC Family. He did seem interested, though. Also, Nick, while I've got you (as it were): I'm interviewing Michael Rivero tomorrow - he's one of the special effects supervisors on the show. I was wondering if you had any questions for him? I ask because the response on the forums has been pretty minimal, and I was just wondering if you had anything in particular you'd want to know. Thanks!--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  09:25, 3 July 2008 (PDT)
    • I did ask him. Twice. But he didn't respond. Thanks for your questions. If you think of any more, send them to me before 6pm GMT tomorrow (I'm doing the interview over IM at that time.) Thanks!--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  09:32, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

deleting

Why did you delete Image:2X22 KlughList.jpg when it was used on the Episode title meanings article. Please restore it because the article looks really stupid now. I don't know who nominated the picture for deleting but I stated the same thing on the picture's talk page.--O r h a n 9 4 11:25, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

template talk

I see you deleted the template talk that are just consisted of "< br>", It's only because they appear as red links on every page the template is used so I created them to avoid those red links. But I'm OK if you delted them.

  • Never mind my mistake.I see you were just replacing them.--O r h a n 9 4 11:58, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

The Island's motives

No complaint at the outcome. It was an ill-conceived project. However, it raises a question. In the case of a better conceived idea, how do you draw people's attention to it without putting a link somewhere so people can go to a page and contribute? Forums don't do it for me. I've read some of the Lost forum threads, but I've never been attracted enough to sign up. Maybe the general question is worth the sysops kicking around among themselves.

Thanks for the chat

Lanny Joon

No, it's not been canceled. However, I created the page too early, and ended up having to push scheduling back, so I'm looking to push posting the interview back until early August to fit in with the other interviews. But no, the interview did happen. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  08:19, 4 July 2008 (PDT)

Abbadon/Abaddon

It me again....

At the Portal:Episodes, Abaddon is mispelled Abbadon at 4x11. While the redirect takes care of the problem, every time I think I've finally figured out how to spell the character's name, I stumble across an error. I'd fix it, but it's a locked page. Can you fix it (on a slow day, of course <grin>)?--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 11:47, 4 July 2008 (PDT)

Thanks and oops! I work in AOL, but sometimes keep a second copy of Lostpedia open in IE. I was browsing in the wrong place.--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 12:15, 4 July 2008 (PDT)

Game Guide

Hey, I created this page for the comprehensive game guide. Do you think it's good? It's a bit long and I think needs a minor rewrite, but it'll do for now. If you think this looks good, I'll copy and paste it to the Lost: Via Domus/Game Guide page. Then we can start to rewrite the episode pages as full-length synopses. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 21:18, 4 July 2008 (PDT)
