Interview

DO you know the answer to his question? Once I have that we can deside on thw questions--Rbfskywalker 08:37, 27 June 2008 (PDT) It was 'do you know who authorized the actors and actresses to do the interviews? lost is pretty strict about this sort of thing but i could do it i just need to know that its "lost approved" lol....let me know some details..' Thats exactly what he sent --Rbfskywalker 08:40, 27 June 2008 (PDT) ok so what do you think the best thing I could say to him would be? --Rbfskywalker 08:48, 27 June 2008 (PDT)

My Problem

Thanks for you help, but i dont think my parents want me download another browser. Do you have anyother suggestions that might help, and again thank you for responding to my call for help:D --LostCloverfield42 21:30, 27 June 2008 (PDT)

Well I downloaded FireFox but I'm Still having the same problems. I did what others had suggested as well and cleared my cache and cookies but it still seems not to work. I'm gonna try and talk to my cousin sometime soon, but if you know any tech geek or anyone else, please send them my way. I think it has something to do with my computer, not the browser. --LostCloverfield42 18:18, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

Ram Dass

Greetings -

Please don't take this the wrong way, but when you mark a page for discussion aren't you supposed to wait until some occurs?

Regards,

--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 17:37, 28 June 2008 (PDT)

I mispoke (miswrote?) You reverted the Richard Alpert page:

(cur) (last) 20:26, 28 June 2008 Sam McPherson (Talk | contribs) (14,285 bytes) (Undo revision 456381 by Gaarmyvet (Talk) There is no reason for a Ram Dass page. All needed info is contained here.) (undo)

BTW, I agree that the page is short, but it serves to shift data which may be insignificant off to the side. From another angle, I'm on overload reading (on John Locke's page I think) about the real Jeremy Bentham being brought out every fifty years so he can be recorded "present but not voting". <smile>

Maybe the answer is the one I referred to in my comment on Talk:Ram Dass about database normalization.

A page like this:

== Real People ==
===John Locke===

===Richard Alpert===

===Jeremy Bentham===

===[others I can't think of]===

(I obviously don't know how to make w i k i start and stop.)

Normalization does a lot of things for you. There's a page for Richard's Items. There are numerous pages where people, including me, discuss what happened the day Richard offered the items to Locke. If you can get something like a concensus, then you only have to reference that page

I've probably bent your ear to long....

--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 18:10, 28 June 2008 (PDT)

I've posted the idea character influences idea to the ideas page as you suggested. I referred to you, so please take a look.

--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 19:22, 28 June 2008 (PDT)

Thanks for the comment on the page. Up until a couple of hours ago, I would have sworn the the help section provided the sample format for the talk page. I was drifting around in help earlier and I noticed my error. However, it's bedtime....

Interview Suggestion

For Goodell I would like to know if her character got killed in "The Shape of Things to Come". For both of them I would like to know their character name and what's their character backstory if they have created a backstory. --Ryan76el 11:40, 29 June 2008 (PDT)

Jason

  • Other than body build, height, and stance, I'm looking at the angle of the ears, pursed lips, same frown lines in forehead above eyebrow, and balding top which makes sense why he normally has it shaved. I agree the facial hair difference is distracting, but look at Matthew's changes which are even more drastic, or even Doug. The lips and ears really seal the case; also no one else is even close. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 15:55, 29 June 2008 (PDT)
  • Thanks! That solution is much better than two fans arguing about it. :) I might not be around much so go ahead and make a new row if I'm wrong. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 16:11, 29 June 2008 (PDT)
  • BTW thanks for your help with the interviews. If you have a chance please go ahead and get the other Others from 4x13, there are two or three different scenes with them. Thanks in advance! -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 16:23, 29 June 2008 (PDT)
  • I meant get pictures. If it's too much trouble, don't worry about it. I've been too busy and you seem to be looking at these guys carefully anyways so I thought it would be up your alley. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 16:30, 29 June 2008 (PDT)
  • Forgot to mention, for image formatting, we've been using square images of any size up to about 400x400, and using as much of the person as we can see, so don't just crop the face. Users can always click on the thumbnail in the article to zoom in. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 16:33, 30 June 2008 (PDT)
  • as noted on the jason talk page, 34.jpg does indeed recur, and has already been added to the page. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 16:33, 1 July 2008 (PDT)
  • Let's see, the girl next to him is #12. I remember seeing #2 (the pair Locke sees first), #3 (attacks Keamy's henchman's legs),#28 (ponytail guy visible as island moves). Other ones used in recent episodes are worth looking for: #5, #6, #8, #9, #19, #24, #31. If you get really ambitious you can go through the people last seen in The Brig or The Man Behind the Curtain, there are probably a few there too. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 16:45, 1 July 2008 (PDT)
  • We'll keep the images in the current format, in this case the table format actually helps present the article well, and verifies the recurrence of each; the thumbnails are actually quite small compared to image size elsewhere in the wiki. There is ample precedence for long width tables, see also voice actors or Airdates for similar tables; in fact our policy has been to eliminate tables in articles in which they are merely decorative. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 19:16, 1 July 2008 (PDT)
  • Before you do the interview, check out his tv interview link [1], in case there's anything good in there to write questions. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 17:04, 2 July 2008 (PDT)

Alien

We still don't have a good policy in place regarding when a character is dead or not, so I'm not willing to give the user a block. My advice? Just keep reverting. Robert K S (talk) 21:15, 29 June 2008 (PDT)

Your sig

BTW, your signature is really hard to read on my monitors. Might I ask that you use a little more contrast between the text and the background? Robert K S (talk) 21:37, 29 June 2008 (PDT)

Thanks! Robert K S (talk) 21:41, 29 June 2008 (PDT)

Languages

I posted this on the Lostpedia ideas article too, but no one responded to it for about a month.I'm trying to make a languages page for Lost and I need somebody's help and ideas because I want it to be really good, and I really hope that you don't mind helping me. Please check it out here.If you have any suggestions, post them on my talk page.--O r h a n 9 4 13:02, 30 June 2008 (PDT)

  • I'm thinking tables for the listings, but not tables as those in Body count or missions, more like those on Military, just a picture of the character and a list of necessery information. And also writen sections for the language barrier and the on-show occurences (like you said Michael and Naomi in "Meet Kevin Johnson" ). I'm also thinking of having a list of characters who keep the languages that they speak a secret such as Sun and Charlotte.

--O r h a n 9 4 13:30, 30 June 2008 (PDT)

  • Started it.--O r h a n 9 4 13:55, 30 June 2008 (PDT)
    • I wanted to ask you something before additing it on Languages. Should we add Jae Lee (as speaking Korean and English), Paulo (Portugese (I think he speaks it) and English), Eko & Yemi (Nigerian and English), Hurley & Carmen (Spanish and English) and Nikki (Spanish and English).--O r h a n 9 4 07:07, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

Thanks

Hello, and thank you for that. I am a newbie here on Lostpedia, and that's why I included that (I thought it was OK). I am sorry I did that. I hope you don't mind. And thank you for all your contributions to this excellent wiki. I like it a lot. Leo Johannes 04:12, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

re red links

I didn't know that. I was just trying to remove all the links to Australian giral and all the deleted casualties.thaks for informing me.--O r h a n 9 4 12:48, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

  • I'm just removing the links to deleted pages and the links to voice actors with no articles.I cencerely doubt that someone would restore the casualties or Australian girl articles on Lostpedia. At first, I was removing them because they were annoying, then I just followed the Lostpedia:job list, wanted articles.--O r h a n 9 4 10:32, 2 July 2008 (PDT)
    • I'm actually just removing them from the disambiguation pages and the templates (becuase just one red link on a template is counted as 35 or more "wanted" links on the job list article) . You could find all the uncreated articles for voice actors on the Voice actors page as red links, or on their templates as words that are not links. I still owe you one for the Language page, so if you want any help with doing all these Voice actors articles, be free to call me.--O r h a n 9 4 10:39, 2 July 2008 (PDT)

Walt

Yeah, Grandmas can be pretty convincing people. Maybe Walt could bring Grandma with him. She and Rose would be a pair!--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 15:44, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

Re:Interviews

Lemme guess, User:Sam McPherson/sandbox3 hehe??? I think an intro could be added above the portal really, though I do think more links are needed to the interview portal, as its quite hidden on the site. Anyway, as for the step-by-step how to initiate interview guide, I dunno about that. I'm weary of in any way shape or form sending out people as mini Lostpedia reps. I'd rather trusted people do it. If someone has a proposal or a lead, then they can let us know (that could be stated in the intro), but I don't like outsiders conducting it, especially if they then were to insult the actor or something (I mean you never know!). You and LostSoul are different as you're regulars, I'm sure you'll agree some random newb requesting permission would never get it from SysOps. Also, is Kitty the best port of call as our resident forum goddess? I think people like Plkrtn or Jabr have more controlling influence as they're in more direct contact with Admin. Also Plkrtn is a bureaucrat SysOp. --Nickb123 (Talk) 17:38, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

Portal:Interviews? It ain't too bad! --Nickb123 (Talk) 17:59, 1 July 2008 (PDT)

Awesome!

Cool! That'd be a pretty interesting one, I mean I heard the guy is quite... bohemian! I mean Mittelwerk's big ponytail, that ain't no fake character thing, its the actor's! He seems like a very happy altruistic kinda guy, so hearing how he played the big bad will be great! When question time comes, I'll post loads for you! --Nickb123 (Talk) 08:30, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

Well you know I could probably see if I could get an interview with Speaker actually, or even Javi (as him and Speaker are like that). I could always look into it. --Nickb123 (Talk) 08:40, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

I just saw your pencil sketch

Wow, that's awesome. Robert K S (talk) 22:31, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

Lanny Joon

Hey what's happening with The Lostpedia Interview:Lanny Joon. I just notice it as its on the orphaned page list, and isn't included in the interview portal or nav. Has it been cancelled? --Nickb123 (Talk) 05:31, 4 July 2008 (PDT)

Deletions

Thanks for the message, Sam. Unfortunately, there appears to be disagreement on this issue amongst SysOps, which suggests diminishing hope of resolution. Robert K S (talk) 16:16, 4 July 2008 (PDT)

Christian Bowman and Faith Fay

I was just wondering if you know when you will be posting you interviews with Christian Bowman and Faith Fay. Being a background survivor's lover. I can't wait to read these interviews. Also another question, do you know if you will be getting anymore interviews with any more background survivors? --LostCloverfield42 21:21, 4 July 2008 (PDT)

  • Well if I had to choose, I'd most likely wanna choose one of the ones who has been there from day one and are still on the show (Chris Candella, Beth Merritt, John Ludwig, Wayne Geiger, Steve Tanizaki, Juliette Goodelle, Judy Chamness, Jim Mazzarella, Dustin Watchman, or Adeline Gregor) Or a background character that many people are interested in such as Dakota L, who has gained some fame among die hard viewers when she was killed off in The Shape of Things to Come. People may also like to hear and interview from Ivana Michele Smith (N.D. survivor) as well. But out of the ones that I listed above, I would most want to have an Interview from Dakota L. -- LostCloverfield42  T  C  22:06, 4 July 2008 (PDT)
    • I can't really can't think of many crew members to interview, but what about interviews with seim-promient guest stars like John Terry, Kimberly Joseph, L. Scott Cladwell, or Sam Anderson? As for contact information for Dakota L, there is a link to her talent agency on the background cast page, [[2]]. There, I think you can "inquire" about Dakota L. I don't know if you will be able to get an interview with her this way or not, but I think that it is worth a try. And I wouldn't be opposed to a Chris Candella interview as you had mentioned earlier. He is one of my more favortie background survivors, so I think an Interview with him would be cool. -- LostCloverfield42  T  C  22:27, 4 July 2008 (PDT)
      • Well lets see, I'm sure many fans would appreciate an interview with Patchy, (Andrew Divoff), but I don't know how hard it would be to contact him. Any main cast member, a la Jorge Garcia (which is already being covered), some people may want an interview with Mira Furlan, but since she moved back to her homeland in eastern europe, an interview with her seems unlikely. Tania Raymonde may be a worthwhile interview. An interview with Michael Giacchino would be pretty cool. Another might be Josh Randall who played Nathan in The Other 48 Days. All of these are just suggestions and I'm not even sure if I'm aiming to high up in fame level with some of these people but from a viewers standpoint, some of these people I would like to be seen interviewed. -- LostCloverfield42  T  C  22:44, 4 July 2008 (PDT)
        • Oh and Lillian Hurst. -- LostCloverfield42  T  C  22:46, 4 July 2008 (PDT)
          • Jeez, well it looks like you have been busy looking for interview canadits, well you probably checked this but I'm just gonna throw out some more, Veronica Hamel, Julie Bowen, Sarah Caplan, Stephen Williams, Billy Dee Williams (far shot), Keir O'Donnell (Claire's Ex-Boyfriend, Thomas). I'm just pulling these out of a hat, you may have tried to contact alot of these, but, any of the survivors family members would be good actors/actresses to contact. -- LostCloverfield42  T  C  22:55, 4 July 2008 (PDT)

Two things, 1) I'm looking forward for SBSSG's story! (reading the topic below) and 2) I think an interview with Juliette Goodell would be interesting since there's a lot of speculation about her disapearence plus she's been here since S1.--Mistertrouble189 21:44, 5 July 2008 (PDT)

  • Not any I can think of at the moment, but maybe Jon Sakata or Julia Summo (both played tailies)?--Mistertrouble189 21:53, 5 July 2008 (PDT)

Re:Backstory

I don't see too much of a problem with it, I've self-referenced in the past on main article Lostpedia (such as linking to the blog for clues on the Paik Heavy Industries article). Obviously, one shouldn't make a habit of it, but in special instances its surely okay. Do me a favor and run it by Santa though? Cheers, --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:08, 5 July 2008 (PDT)

Sandboxs

I was just wondering if you could maybe clarify for me what a "Sandbox" exactly is. Also, I was wondering if anything had come of trying to contact Dakota L's talent agency. -- LostCloverfield42  T  C  00:15, 6 July 2008 (PDT)
