  • Cool, that's what we really need. There's only so much I can find having to translate every site and having to find sites in foreign languages (which is quite difficult) and not being able to translate some of the more exotic languages. It would be great if we could get users from different countries to see if they can help out, being able to read the language and all. I mean we completely filled in the German column and added more when Evelyn started helping and found a site in German with all the names of all the voice actors through the first two seasons on it.--Mr.Leaf 12:59, 21 January 2007 (PST)

Quick Note

  • About quotes: my pitch. ;) jks. Basically, I agree with you, as does everyone else that has thus far agreed. Quotes do have to be relevant and I will personally go through them all if this policy is implemented and make sure they are. I understand that they have to be relevant to the plot; that was my original intention, and LOCI's, too. Future Guest Stars

  • What is Lostpedia's policy or views on pages for future guest stars. Such as those appearing in Not in Portland. Is just adding a infobox alright, or can we fill all the information about the actor out? And do those pages need a spoiler warning?--Mr.Leaf 16:56, 22 January 2007 (PST)

RE: GOSH

Good question :). The code is currently very liberal and changes pretty much all instances of the episode name. I've added a few tweaks here and there to work-around some glaring problems (e.g., it won't change anything if the episode title is followed by the word "Transcript"), but it definitely requires us humans to double-check its work.

I made an attempt to teach it more rules about wikitext, but wikitext is pretty darn complicated :). If or when I have a chance to write the next version of these scripts, I'll probably have to resort to a much more conservative ruleset, or possibly if I have time, I can teach the code the full set of rules.

Pshyco Smokey Monster

Why has Smokey been banned? He did nothing wrong. 1. He stopped his argument with Captain Insano he was instead creating a portfolio of attacks from Capt which was recommended tohim by another user and you didn't say he couldn't do that. 2. I thought that as the talk page was his he had a right to delete it's content and 3. you haven't taken into account what Insano said that was deleted from his talk page. 4. As far as I know, yes the UK will be only a few days behind US air dates, confirmed by a number of Sky reps. For the AA, I don't mind it being two weeks long, but maybe we could see what other editors who usually take part think by adding something on the discussion page? I don't really mind though. Ep Rewrites

Hey Santa, I'm not getting into a tense argument before you think anything! I'm just wondering if we can keep the way we usually use images in the synopses. My main concern is with aligning the pics and making the text all strangely placed - it makes it much more difficult to read through. Voice faces

  • I think that would be a great idea. It wouldn't be to hard. And I've noticed quite a few things as I've gone through and made all the voice actor articles. Such as a lot of the foreign Jins and Sun aren't Asian and it seems really weird picturing the voice of that voice actor with the original cast member. Anyway, so are you suggesting one large voice actor/original cast member face article, or a separate article for each character? And what do you propose we include on the page? Flashback characters

I tend to think that the pictures and video in flashbacks should be included. Mr reasoning being that they are in their flashbacks, and the odds that out of 6 billion people in the world they find someone who has a picture of one of the other 48 people they are stranded on an island with should definitely be noted.

As for for airport meetings. I am of the opinion that if it was in the airport it should not be included for the obvious reason. However Charlie in the elevator I think should be included because in a city of 4 and a half million there is who knows how many hotels and the likely hood of Charlie and Hurley staying at the same hotel is very low and also should be noted.

I tend to disagree with the Libby, Eko thing just for my above argument but Its just my opinion. Other than that, I agree with your points, and I'll add them now. I'll leave the picture and video characters and Charlie in the elevator until we make a decision. -Mr.Leaf 08:45, 31 January 2007 (PST)

Episode Synsopses

  • Hey, I like the work you did on "Live Together, Die Alone" - very flash and the article looks a lot better now I think. I did the same thing with "One of Them", and I would love to be able to do this for all the episode synopses. I believe it will make them look much better, and finding pics wouldn't be too hard. The only problem is, I know that if I start doing the synopses I'll get in trouble for it. Lol. So... how do we (if you believe the changes would be good also) go about bringing this in effect?   • Heh, I figure that one will be broken soon enough because of the same reason, but might as well have it up til then. BTW, separate issue, just thought I'd let you know, I did a lot of reorganizing with our very messy noncanon cat. You know how we were always having issues with when to put on the different warning templates? I think I clarified the definitions a little better in Category:Non-Canon (which is now just a super-cat for subcats only; see individual fanon, hoax and parody subcats for articles, which overlap a lot less now). PS: I know the parody thing was driving you nuts (that some articles were about parodies but not parodical in themselves, and I think I cleared this by saying "subject matter is parodical"). Hey Santa, I love all the things that you have polar bear say in chat (such as quotes from Starla & Locke when leaving). I thought I'd offer some other stuff, take it or leave it, for when people come in:

Just a few ideas.     • To start, "Im not mad, im pissed." Was a joke.

    • You later stated to me that you didnt like the fact that i "spammed" the sysops with a simple request to look at it!
  • I did reply to your question with this: "I THOUGHT maybe the wiki software had some sort of way to auto paste it.
    • AUTO PASTE IT, what does that mean to you? It means it started as a serious effort to fight crime and vandalizing by "black marking" those who had comminted a "crime" several times. But later turned into a template used simply for jist. You can see this by the changes i made.
  • You personal insulted me by basicly calling my article a "cry for attention"
  • Why do I edit so many templates and talk pages?
    • I vote on articles being considered for deletion.
      • Better looking templates help the communtiy.
        • I have made alot of useful suggestions to the admin and other sysops. Such as the 'soon to be realesed' Japanese lostpedia.
          • I have kept users somewhat "entertained" by creating a now "famous" parody theory.

For the record, my lack of editing in mainstream articles is do to the fact that many articles do not need to be edited. Such as the Japan article, what could I possibly do to it? Dubbing Director

Just curious for you opinion on this one. While researching the new Portuguese voice actors I came across the dubbing director for the Portuguese dubbing of Lost. Steve Labrash Picture

  • I'm just curious as to why we need another picture of Steve Labrash when we already have one. I mean there are dozens of guest stars whose pictures are just that of their character. And I highly doubt we will get a promotional image as he really isn't a regular actor, this was just a one time thing, unless someone sends him another email asking for a picture, but I don't really think thats necessary. I'm just curious as to why you put the picture needed template back up? I was browsing pages and removed it, then realized it had been removed before so i thought i'd ask. Saw this yesterday, just remembered it. We have the page, Alex's hideout. Which is fine. Now type in "Alex's Hideout" (capital H) in the search bar and it brings you to that page. However when you wikify it, Alex's Hideout, it doesn't work. And there is no way to make this a redirect, as it is seemingly already the correct page. -Mr.Leaf 19:54, 9 February 2007 (PST)

Voice faces

  • Okay, so I've been working with the idea of the voice faces article and basically came up with this:User:Mr.Leaf/test. It uses this template: User:Mr.Leaf/Voice actor template. Its pretty basic but I didn't think we needed that much on the page. I was also going to include a row for their age however due to the restraints (and there are many) of the age template and my lack of knowledge of how to make a better one, I've dropped that idea. I've still got a few bugs to work out and my only concern right now is the size of some of the pictures (or lack there of) but that can easily be fixed for most by uploading a cropped version. Another thing is images that don't have images for some voice actors and the standard male.jpg and female.jpg images don't really work in it. Kitsis/Horowitz

  • Are you pretty sure that that is Edward Kitsis in the photo? The reason is because I'm transcribing the Lost: On Location (Season 2) thing from the DVD, and they have the guy we labeled Adam Horowitz talking labeled as Kitsis in the "Everybody Hates Hugo" section (haven't gotten to "Dave" yet. This may also be a mistake with the DVD, and we have it right.--PandoraX 20:59, 19 February 2007 (PST)
  • Having seen the "Dave" portion (yay, finished the transcript!), I think you are right on that, and made note that the DVD made a mistake. Also, could you look at the LTDA portion of Lost: On Location (Season 2)? At one point, the marine director mentions that the name of the real life boat used for the Others' boat (that took Walt & Michael) was named something like Kaimi Pee. That looks like awful spelling (guess on my part phonetically), and you being from Hawaii, might be able to get the spelling a little better or know more about it... please correct as needed. Hey Santa, yeah the calendar is under The Lost Experience clues - I've messaged the user and told him. It does actually need work in fact, when it was all happening the articles were sort of updated as they happened, and then discarded when a new clue on a different day required attention.   • As far as I can tell, he actually did that one. I'm sure that we are the only one who has this transcript, but I haven't checked a couple other sites.   • As for the source of my image, Santa, it's a photo from TLE which is not ABC copyrighted material; the TLE writers themselves manipulated it on photoshop from an image of Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas (who I highly doubt had to give them specific rights either), and then uploaded to Flickr, a public use site. Neither Wally Bole nor Mandrake Wig are trademarked to ABC, as far as I know of, and have never appeared on the show... it's a very different scenario. And yes, on the gallery, I have to agree with the others, though I see your point also... I think it should have been made on the forum (or IRC PM) rather than here on the talk pages. --PandoraX 18:16, 5 March 2007 (PST)

Nav Templates

  • The way we've been doing it since Dagg has made the Nav-templates is to just add one per page (trying to use the most specific one or applicable one). Some of these articles fit 5 or 6 nav cats, and it would look silly if they had all of them (especially for the TLE article, since that has a TLE template on top also, that links to characters and websites).
